Ash Wednesday...

I'm not a very good catholic, I'll be the first to admit it. However lent is upon us and I was wondering if anyone had decided to deprive themselves of something they really like for the 40 days and 40 nights till easter.

This year I've decided to try something out. I'm a huge fan of junk food (aka potato chips, chocolate bars, Lipton Iced Tea etc...). I've decided to try to go without for Lent and see if I can follow this through.

Anyone else giving up something for the next 40 days?

Im thinking I will go the Hollywood Route.

No Sex for 40 Days. Since I havent had any in who knows how long, it shouldn't be too tough.

hrmm Catholicism and hamster sex. Being in the same thread really doesn't sound that odd.

I am an agnostic. I would sooner go out and prance naked to the moon. It would have the same religious significance as Lent in my opinion.

I am not catholic (was raised baptist), but my fiance is... so, to make him feel better, I am giving up something along with him. I forget what he's giving up, but I'm giving up carbohydrates and caffeine. I made this decision when I had my last gown fitting and didn't reach my goal. god how will i survive these 40 days?!1!
