1.) Has anyone here gone to one of these before? (Dragoncon/Gencon/Origins?)

2.) What are they like as this will be the first convention of any type I will be attending and I want to kinda get a heads up as to what to expect?

3.) Is anyone going to this year's?

is that like one of those things where you get 30 or 40 people to run around in a parking lot and throw bean bags at each other while yelling "LIGHTNING BOLT!"?

because if it is, count me in.

Been to 1 Origins back in 96 for the WDC ( World Diplomacy Convention) in Columbus ( Im from Sweden so was a rather long way ).
Its HUGE, somewhere around 3000 ish players plus gaming stores plus orgenizers plus hang arounds plus what ever.
Back then they had numerous games you could play boardgames/roleplaying games/table top/ computer you name it.
The experience was great, a lot of "cool" stuff happend and so on, movies, new games beeing demostrated and all that.
The Backside was of course that 2500 of the 3000 was geeks and that there was way to much to do, was no way to test all you whanted to.

And I dident se it that time but I guess there will be LIGHTENING BOLT happenings AND female Wood Elfs in leather and chains.
Secretary Pro¨Vannor movment.
Now owning Teh PoM, SH and CT pre nerf, pvp server style.
