C&C Generals, Right Wing Propoganda game?

I am playing this games campaign and cannot believe what this game gets away with. I mean one of the 3 global factions to play are basically mid-eastern terrorists that have suicide runners, suicide trucks etc. The mission that made me go wtf was when the objective was to murder villagers that were getting UN packages dropped via US planes.

Anyone else think this game is....weird?

Don't get me wrong, the graphics rock and it's probably one of the best RTS games I have played. Seems to mix Red Alert with Total Annihilation, and pulls it off spectacularly....but the campaign storylines made me grimace, and add to the fact that when you play as the GLA, the graphical representations of your units are *towel headed maniacs* kind of came off to me as racist. You know I am not one to raise the racist banner whenever someone sneezes, but I am having trouble figuring this one out.

Guess I am reading too much into a game? It seems to be a right wing propoganda medium rather than a game though.....and even though I am right wing, someone force feeding me this kind of message pisses me off.

Should I just shut up and just play the game, or?

Enjoyed the game though I did cringe a bit at the stereotyping. Not just the GLA but the Chinese as well...

Do you have to go through the campaigns or can you play the game like Age of Empires and just build and conquer?

Yes, you can build and conquer vs computer or play online. It's a fun game. I still like Age of Mythology better though.

The setting just makes the game more fun IMO. Keep in mind this game was being made prior to 9/11.

Oh yeah, I love the anthrax upgrades for the terrorists. Nice touch.

All 3 sides are parodied. The Chinese is a parody of marxist communism, the GLA is a parody of terrorists and the US is a parody of ultra patriotic horse shit.

I'm digging it too, Only been through the first 2 missions on the USA side.

Mission #1: Take out the chemical weapons rockets in Bahgdad.
Mission #2: Rescue fallen pilots (Blackhawk down?)
