OG died do to a lot of things. Some people in the guild took EQ a bit too far, and too personally. Being stuck in the same place for ages bothered a lot of people. Rumors that may have been truths, or truths that were called rumors were spread. Wikit...remember the last fight you and Moogy had? Well something like that made most officers leave. OG as a guild was great. OG had potential to do great things. Unfortunately there was a paladin..or was it a wizard...that wouldn't allow for the guild to prosper.
Elex
Here's a big toast to Elex for being a big enough dick to make multiple officers quit several different times over the course of the last 3 years.
Hurray!

i dont know why people feel the need to gloat over something like this.
expecially people who left OG so long ago. get over it already. many of you would never have been given the opportunity to get in the upper tier guilds you left OG for had it not been for the efforts of the people in OG to train and equip you into somebody who would be a worthy recruit in a greater guild.
I know I'll remember the good things that we did do together over the years. Sure there were a few fucktards who came through the ranks over the years, i'm trying to forget about them
but we had some good times. on our good days, we certainly had fun together and tried real hard, and on occasion surpassed our expectations. When other guilds were content to farm other people's plane breaks, we busted our ass figuring it out for ourselves. we often aspired to the right way to do things, and if we fell short, so be it.
what's done is done, even though i havent been in the guild for over a year, many of my fondest memories of EQ came in that guild, and i'm fortunate to still associate with quite a few players from OG in my current guild. I consider many of those people to be the best players i ever encountered in the game, and i certainly fondly remember a lot of our best moments together.

Yep, OG was great I had so much fun doing that PoA raid with you Voro... sneaking in and out from the computer hoping my parents wouldn't find me! There were so many times when a certain guild leader wasn't present and OG began to excel in so many different areas, and we did great things being run by the officers. But when he returned things went to hell. But other then that, OG was great.

I don't think they'll fall apart, just part of the 3 steps forward - 2 steps back cycle. There's a bunch of good folks left still.
When I left last fall ~4 people were still there from when I joined in Aug 2000, not including a few recycles. Lot's of good friends and memories, though I probably stayed much longer than I should have.

Two years ago?.. I poured my soul into making OG excel. I do regret that I failed.
Elex was a hard guy to work for. He lacked consistancy. (not that I was any better)
I had some great fun and great frustration there.
I'm sure just about every guild on the server has one or two ex-OGs.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I carry the ex-OG label with affection.

Yea RoS is still around doing their thing.
It's a shame to see OG fade if they really are.
I had some good interactions with them as an officer of RoS while RoS and OG were both doing trak a lot to get folks VP keys.
Did a number of joint raids with them while Etain was running the raid from their side.

OG was good times. It pretty much comes down to the guild leader (and Etain as well) not being the right people for the job. Gaklek offered I believe to assume the role. That didn't happen. OG continued it's ways and those that wanted more out of EQ scattered in all different directions.
Change the GL and OG would have ranked up there with the rest of the guilds that cluster right behind FoH.
Lots of good memories from OG though.

OGs demise has been predicted a bunch of times in the past, despite the loss of players I doubt it's going anywhere this time either.
I saw someone with an Obsidian Overlords recently, no idea who has the GL tagged char, but there's definately still 10+ members

Hmmm Rumor Mongering OG might be alive but the Well part we might have to see. As far as rumor mongering, I dont think so V-man ,you see I was in a nice little channel with lets see All of the Officers that left because of Moggys Blanky like pissfit.Voronwë wrote:OG claims to be alive and well.
Cartalas how about getting back to spamming OT with nonsense instead of rumor mongering about subjects like this.
