You're wrong Bulivf. I have seen random acts of cruelty from Thess. One time in Akheva, I was preparing to buff our raid and out of nowhere this lizard approached me. The next thing I saw was, "Thess bites you on the leg!" ...an unprovoked attack!Bulivyf wrote:You're an idiot goose. Thess is a good person and did what she felt was needed. Know what you're talking about before you open that shithole you call a mouth.
I have screenshots.

Actually I don't think Bulivyf went to CD. I haven't logged on in a week, but last I checked he wasn't in CD.
Thess is a good person, she didn't want the position anymore, neither did any of the current officers, and there weren't any good players to promote up the chain left.....CT had been dying for months, I know personally she was looking for someone she felt would be fit to lead for months.
There is a point where you just have to stop playing for everyone else and play for yourself. I'm not going to condemn her for that. She kept CT alive after Xanupox left....maybe we didn't do as well as we all would have liked, but she pulled us up from our downward spiral for awhile.
No, I'm not following Thess to CD. I was scouting another guild but currently I think I'm a bit too busy IRL to join that particular guild....things just really picked up in my social life...
Again Thess didn't kill CT, If anyone killed CT it was Xanupox. The day he left was the day we slowly started to crumble. But I don't even think that was necessarily due to Xanupox, just more of a coincidence....Time killed CT....the age of EQ has caused a lot of veteran players to move on....the turnover was impossible to keep up with.
And of course asses like this "Goose" individual didn't really make being in CT enjoyable also. You know the anon bastards that start shit over nothing and blame all the problems on random people. Yes, that's right I blame people like you more then I blame Thess.
Hell why don't we blame me? I left too...

I do blame you Pils. I blame everyone that left with Thess. What Thess did to the guild was greedy. When Xanupox left the guild he let us know he was leaving and told us to get our shit together. When Thess left she said well screw you guys Im taking those people I like with me and the rest of you can go pike off.

Sorry - I'm totally outside CT... But I have a simple question. I can't claim to know Thess... But I believe you play EQ to have fun, no? Well, not to defend her, but if she didn't have fun anymore as a guild leader, then why should she have stayed? I can understand this brought the guild to its knees, or nearly so, but what should she have done?

Well I'm done with this topic but, for the 20th time, it had nothing to do with anyone simply leaving. I think we can all relate to not having fun and wanting to do something else. I don't fault anyone for wanting to leave. However, when you're the guildleader, there are better ways to go about it than what happened.
But that's just my opinion.

It's pretty easy to see why Thess left or got burnt out just by reading these threads.
I left CT before all this shit went down to join my wife on Legends so we could at least play some together for the first time, well actually second in 3 years. It's been fun and that is what this game is about, fun.
Before I left I will tell you first hand without Thess logging in daily and running the gauntlet of 20 zones checking every spawn the members would log in for the most part and just twiddle their thumbs till something was called. Xaem did try and help her, but even that became less and less as Thess was logging in first. A guild to keep progressing smoothly requires the work (yes it's work) of at least a dozen superactive members, and this wasn't happening all falling back on Thess. Topping that off was all the fucking drama all centering around a few members that just really took the fun out of the game. Being a GL may not be about having fun, but w/o support noone can take the constant bullshit very long.
Thess simply hit that point of , I can't do this any more, I am out of here. Blame her all you want to, but in the end the real problem was each and every one of you having no desire to help pick up the load. A guild is only as good as it's members, rise or fall it all falls back on their shoulders and not the guildleaders. Like it or not, it's gospel.

Bulivyf kinda hit this on the head.
What killed CT was the lack of people who would go to "new raids"...and everyone got tired of it, anyone in a leadership position anyway.
I want to know:
How, after the CT breakup, we get 20 or so a day log on - then when we get our first AoW shot post breakup, we have 46 people online. The next day, we try BoT tower bosses, and we get 22.
How, before the breakup, we get 55 + for XTC/Cursed cycle/HP/AL, then the next day we get 30 to do HoH trials.
Impossible to advance a guild when nobody shows up. Period.
The officers did EVERYTHING they could to make CT work, before and AFTER the breakup. What they got in return - was the pleasure of eating everyone's crap on a minute by minute basis. Complaints, flames, more complaints, and laughably, the complaints were mostly about loot, and mostly before we engaged the mob where the loot was coming from.
In other words - the very people who tried to make CT work were the ones who were basically persecuted for it.
I am so disgusted, I will never play EQ again. I loved CT. I had a great time in CT.
Blame it on Xanupox, but he was right in his post here when he said CT had become nothing more than a loot machine. And loot machine was all it was to a lot of people. It was no longer a symbol of the original people who formed CT to challenge FoH. Can you see Sirton, Xan, Lugon, and Bandog all fighting over Vox's loot before they engaged? For that matter, can you see that group of people not even shoing up for Vox because they lost numerous times? Oh, better yet, could you see 60 people back then showing up for Plane of Hate one night and 22 the next day showing up for Nagafen?
Blame it on Thess, but she had had enough of trying to run a guild without any support. I wonder, the 2 times we logged in early on patch day to try emperor - if it was AoW, would you all have shown up?
Blame it on me for quitting after 3 weeks of getting no support to advance the guild (or just get our casters some freaking level 65 spells for that matter) and eating everyones crap for hours on end.
Maybe, just maybe, you should ALL look at yourselves to figure out what would have saved CT. I can assure you, it wasn't the officers that destroyed CT.
The whole thing is a shame, and a testament to just how badly greed and selfishness can ruin any type of guild or organization. I am truly disgusted.

The officers? Most of the officers didn't do shit before the breakup and I suspect they didn't do shit after it. That was CTs real problem - they expected one person to do all the work while they sat back and collected the rewards. It's pretty fucking pathetic when you can't even get your officers to vote on loot without harassing them. Bottom line is nobody was putting even 1/10th the effort into CT that Thess was. People can complain all they want that their free ride is gone now, but they're the ones that caused it. Blame Thess, if it makes you feel better about being a worthless sack of shit, but it wasn't her. You are the greedy ones.Mezzmor wrote:

Thess didn't kill CT. CT was dead a long time before she left. It was dead when people like you stopped trying. It was dead when the guild couldn't break 40 on a raid despite having over 80 members. It was dead when one person had to do the work of 5-10 because everyone else was too lazy or didn't care enough to put any effort into the guild. In other words, people like you that never did shit for the guild but cause drama and soak up loot killed CT. You want someone to blame? Look in the mirror.
War pickles men in a brine of disgust and dread.
I'd look inthe mirror but I don't think I'd see what you told me I would. I put in the effort and supported guild events when I could.
Apparently reading comprehension is lost on a few people here. And I'm not necessarily referring to Karae.
Perhaps "killed" is the wrong word. It's obvious to anyone in CT that there were problems and the guild was bleeding. Was this the fault of Thess? No. She thought she could stop it and jumped in and took on the effort when a lot of people wouldn't have bothered.
I don't find with fault with that. I don't find fault with her wanting to get out either. I simply have a problem with how she chose to do it. Would I have done it differently? I can't say.
My post wasn't meant as a flame on Thess as a person. It's Thess as a guildleader and how (not why) she chose to end her role in the guild that continues to rub me the wrong way. That's the ONLY thing I have an issue with.
I hope Thess finds what she's looking for in CD. Being in a guild, the right guild, really makes the game more enjoyable. Before I joined CT I wasn't having fun in my previous guild. I chose to leave and pursue my own goals. Guess what, it paid off and I found a good home in CT. So I understand that and don't hold begrudge anyone wanting to leave their guild for another.
That's about as simple as I can put it.

First off, people not logging in to get shit done is what killed CT.
Second, go ahead and blame me for following Thess out of CT and into Valhall. Oh wait....Thess isnt in Valhall. Hrmmm only seems to be like 3 ex CT in CD now. Who exactly followed Thess Pyro?
I left cuz the guild sucked at that time and I wasn't having fun. I hate to see what it's become and still think we shoulda disbanded the guild for good. Watching it bleed out as it is right now is painful.

You've got to keep a tight crew to sustain a guild for any extended period of time. There's no doubt that recruiting rejects from Rune of War and Pravus Dei helped accelerate CT's breakup. Guildremoving long time members only worsened the situation. As much as someone pisses me off or does something stupid, if they've been in the guild a long time, I'm not going to remove them even if they're inactive (unless of course they ebay or join another guild and leave their gimps tagged). They have what I call 'Immunity from Death Touch'.
As far as loot goes, screening retards goes a long way to insuring loot stays in a guild. If you find that you're the only person checking spawns or leading raids, promote competent people to help you. You have to be able to manage conflict well, whether it's a guild issue or a people issue. Oh yeah, get new shit killed once in awhile and people will log on.

Nice Thess booster post Karae but you're the sack of shit if you think everyone was lazy in CT. You can blame some for it but not all.
Teurde sucked balls and only complained about others all the time. He was the worst by far.
I'll tell you what partially killed CT..it was the lame ass vote on new officers. We had 8 officers. At least 4 of those officers either sucked or just did nothing at all. A vote was put up to choose who you thought should be an officer. Instead of using this to eliminate some of the slackers, they kept ALL 8 of the current officers and added 8 more! Holy fucking shit. Half of those new officers got in on 5 votes each....and that's because no one understood the vote. So you ended up with 16 officers in CT. My current guild has 2 and kicks ass...16?? Fucked up officer corp to beghin with and then doubling the size? fucked up.
Not sure why Karae spouts off about CT. He should STFU and stick to his own guild. As much as Karae thinks he knew because he had thess's ear night and day, he doesn't know everything.
Thess was a drama queen in her own right.. to this day she'll probably deny that she couldn't handle the job and was overloaded on personal /tells all the time. The bottom line is she did have too much going on in EQ besides being the GL of EQ. This is not a personal attack on Thess. She's a good person, blah blah blah but where the praises end is her pointing the finger at others...talk of backs hurting and not doing what a GL should and being honest is what irritates the dedicated members of CT. Tell the guild, not the other officers that weren't helping anyway, that you are burned out and are going to step down as leader in an orderly fashion and join another guild as a regular member. Simple as that. no harm no foul for anyone involved. What happened was drama at it's finest and no attempt to help keep CT together. No one cared if Teurde was leaving. He had left in the past, no biggie.
There were plenty of people like aslanna who worked hard and raided hard to make CT a good guild. They were fucked over.

Wow Winnow, you are still not over that? As for me complaining about people...I'm sorry I felt people logging in and killing shit could improve the guild. As for being the worst, remember when I stepped down after listening to you whine and not wanting to put up with it anymore? I was asked to come back after. Why is that?
I admit that I didnt do all I could at the end, but honestly, the effort that others put into making it to raids was draining on the soul. I think I was fair in most cases and had a good grip on what was going on and thats why I was made an officer. If you dont thats your opinion and you're entitled to it.
Who are you? Were you in CT longer than a week? See post above whoever you are.Drewno wrote:Winnow - Why the fuck are you posting about what CT should and should not have done? You were fucking KICKED OUT not once, but TWICE.
Bad decisions that CT made? How about letting a fucking whining, noob shaman back in, only to kick him out again a month later?

Holy shit people, this is last year's flame! I realize some of you just love talking about Thess, but there should be a limit to how many times you can dig up the same topic! I think Thess is pretty cool personally, but I was not around during the time these issues came about, so I won't debate them. However, as a casual observation, the more crap I see posted to this forum about Thess not doing <--insert random issue here--> for <--insert bitter person here-->, the more I see why she stopped trying!
Will you move on and find a new topic to flame? This one has been rinced and repeated so many times I can write the damn script.

People put a lot of time into building guilds. While no one is responsible for someone elses enjoyment of the game, it's easy to ruin someone's enjoyment of the game by being inconsiderate.Fallanthas wrote:Here's a clue.
Noone is on this earth to be responsible for you enjoying yourself but you.
It's a fucking game. Deal.
Try blowing off any hobby or recreation you have that took time to organize and develop. Make an effort to comprehend that the method of departure and finger pointing was the problem and nothing else.
Here's an analogy:
Picture a bowl of jello. CT's future is the jello. Thess is in charge of scooping out and delivering this future/jello to the members of CT because she chose to be in that position. Now thess is good at her job and can scoop out perfectly round jello balls from the bowl and serve them to the members of CT.
Everyone's happy. Thess is scooping out round balls of jello at a furious pace keeping CT members happy. But as the bowl of jello starts to empty, it's harder to make perfectly round scoops as you start to hit the sides of the bowl.
All of the sudden, Thess drops the spoon and heads for the fudge instead of jello for a change of pace. She doesn't gently hand the spoon over to someone but jams it in whats left of the jello in the bowl and is gone. Others try to grab the spoon and scoop out a few round balls but they weren't shown how to to this and on top of that, it's even harder to make the round balls as the bowl has been pre-scooped. Several people with less experience try to scoop these all important jello balls but they create more and more havok with mis-scoops making it almost impossible for anyone to finally grab that spoon and make a nice round jello ball.
I submit to you that thess scooped until the easy balls were distributed and then dropped the spoon instead of handing it off when the challenge of forming nice round balls became more daunting. She could have made a new bowl of jello and refreshed and revitalized the members of CT with new round balls or at least handed the spoon over to someone and advised them that a fresh bowl of jello was needed.
CTers have since moved on to new desserts/future plans. Some chose to follow thess and eat fudge, some are skipping dessert now while still others have found whipped cream and strawberries and that has made all the difference.
Take your problem, relate it to a bowl of jello, and you will find the answers.
So like, the Tao of Jello?Take your problem, relate it to a bowl of jello, and you will find the answers.

Too often it seems it is the peaceful and innocent who are slaughtered. In this a lesson may be found that it may not be prudential to be either too peaceful or too innocent. One does not survive with wolves by becoming a sheep.

Personally, I blame Gung.
Time killed CT, people not loggin on killed CT. Planes of Power killed CT.
The ridiculous time sinks and endless flagging requirements... people been losing interest in the game anyways. For me the game became to much of a chore, and not much fun.
Lots of shit killed CT.
Neither Xan, nor Thess, or any individual killed CT. We had a great run, years of good memories that I'll always have.
