Interesting commentary on why the US sucks and is losing to China
US gaming companies are fighting with their user base because of all the woke shit while China makes games you like to play. There's more to it than that like the 4X budget of US games to develop etc. Even if you're woke and want to save gay whales etc. It's good to know why you're losing "the fight" to companies in China that make games that are fun while you bitch about seeing too much cleavage. (China also censors that stuff but their games are still fun). A good rule of thumb...if you have to force something into a movie/TV series or are told you must, it should raise a red flag. If people want to see it, they'll vote with their wallets. (I'm talking to you Bud Light)
AI is the great equalizer. As it improves. anyone, race color creed, etc can make movies about anything and if people want to watch it, they will. Until then, you make games/movies/TV series that people want to see that pay you.
Couple things about this woke shit in games from my own perspective:
I'm old. I don't want to see more old people in games because of that. We are not meant to be seen unless it's to impart wisdom or provide knowledge. Keep us locked up in closets. I think teen/early twenties is the most interesting development/exploration years for humans. That's why I like (good) high school movies, and early twenties stuff. We don't need to flood the market with "Cocoon" movies...that, surprise surprise, is about old people that want to be and feel young again.
I'm not good looking and was only "average" in my youth. That doesn't mean I want to see more ugly people in movies. I want to see in shape, good looking people. I UNDERSTAND that all people don't look like that IRL. How fucking hard is that to grasp?
If I was in a wheelchair, I wouldn't want to be reminded of it by demanding more people be in wheelchairs in movies.
Live it. Teach it to kids and then let us watch shows and play games that don't have an over abundance of ugly people, fat people, freaks and whatever else is the hot topic persuasion of the day. If there was a demand for games that have fully covered people they would sell more. Don't force your agenda on those that weren't brainwashed by soccer moms that can't properly raise their kids and then make it worse by ranting and raving about shit any chance they get to try and make their miserable existence seem better. When I'm watching something educational I have never once thought "man, that dude is old. That lady is fat"...because I'm there to learn something, they are potentially giving me knowledge. I don't care about what they look like. The problem with our society is they can't distinguish between entertainment and gaining knowledge.
In "the real world" 90% of you aren't considered "pretty" or are too fat, skinny, etc. Deal with it. Your body only matters in order to keep your mind healthy so that's the reason to take care of it. The real problem is that you're too stupid to grasp that what you see on screen doesn't translate to reality. That's on your genetics. Blame your parents for creating a stupid baby that grew up to be you. You can't change the ugly person and mentally brainwashed person you are but you might be able to save your kids if you teach them the basic understanding of reality vs virtual reality. By the time they grow up we will mostly be living in virtual reality where everyone can look however they want physically. Your brain/consciousness is all that matters.
I kinda went off the rails. The video actually only hints at the woke bullshit. I only bring it up because I hate you woke, charity giving (to make yourself feel better), save the planet types whether your pretty or ugly, in shape or crippled. The video itself is worth the watch.
