Thief, along with Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 sadly, has been getting fairly poor reviews so it shouldn't take too long for it to hit the bargain bin for those really interested. My recommendation is to wait!

Or not. March is pretty lackluster. I mean.. Dungeon Defenders is an ok game but it's rather ancient. Civilization Revolution is even older!

Unfortunately the thing that makes GwG unique when compared to the competition, which is keeping the games even when your Gold subscription runs out, probably also makes it harder for them to include new games on the list.

And not having the program for XBO at this time is pretty lame as well. Get your shit together, Microsoft!

Major Nelson said last year that Game with Gold would be coming later on this year. I'm expecting it to be at E3.

I'm also expecting a lot of ID@Xbox titles to be part of that list of freebies on the first while.

So like.. 7-8 months after the console launched. That's pretty embarrassing! If I were an XBO owner I'd consider that a SLAP IN THE FACE! Although on the plus side they wont be 8 year old games like on the 360 side since XBO hasn't been around that long.

NewEgg had the 750GB model a couple weeks ago for $350. I almost jumped on it but don't really have the need. The 1TB Might be nice in a console though. Well, a PS4 anyway since you can't swap drives in the XBO. Not an XBO slam just stating a fact!

SSD in a console isn't the best idea due to limited number of read/write cycles with flash memory. It sounds like waiting on the 2tb WD spin point M9T hybrid drive is going to be your best bet for a ps4 drive.

Wow with a 2 TB drive in the PS4 you'd be good through the year 2100 at the rate PS4 gets exclusives!

A hybrid drive is all that's needed for close to max speed on the PS4.

What does 'exclusives' have to do with anything? Oh wait it doesn't. Games take space regardless of them being exclusive or not. Especially since PS4 is the clear choice for most multi-platform games.

I'm sure Titanfall 2 on the PS4 will take a bunch of space!

June PS+ freebies. Now 2 titles per platform each month:

Trine 2: Complete Story (PS4)
Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate (PS4)

NBA 2K14 (PS3)
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (PS3)

Terraria (PS Vita)
Mutant Mudds Deluxe (PS Vita)
Since we are always looking to continue evolving PS Plus to be a service that really serves our community, we are excited to provide a more balanced set of games introduced each month with PS Plus. As you’ll see below, starting in June, members will have access to two titles per month for each of our platforms.

Since we’ve seen how excited many of you are to download Instant Game Collection titles as soon as they’re available, we’ve decided to adjust the length of time each title will be available. Starting in July, every title in the Instant Game Collection will be available the first Tuesday of the month, and will be free for the month, until the first Tuesday of the following month, taking the guesswork out of how long the game will be available for free. In the coming weeks, you’ll see that several of the titles that have had a nice, long stint in the Instant Game Collection will be phased out, so if you’re new to the service and haven’t had a chance to download all of the titles available through PS Plus — or if you’ve been thinking about subscribing but haven’t yet — now is the perfect time to get all the great games available with PS Plus.
That's a nice change. I wasn't really a fan of how they staggered out titles over the month.

BTW Battlefield 3 and Plants vs Zombies is currently free but only until 1:00 PM Tuesday. The only catch is you need to use Origin.

https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/free ... -the-house

(PvZ I guess is there until the 16th.)

'Uncharted 3' Currently Free For All PSN Members

In a deal so good everyone’s questioning whether or not it’s a glitch, Uncharted 3′s single player campaign has just been listed as free to download for all PSN members.

That’s PSN, meaning so long as you’re signed up with Sony's free online service, you don’t need a paid PS Plus subscription. You know, the thing that usually gets you free games.

The download has been tested and does indeed work, indicating that this may not be a glitch after all, and could be some sort of promotion for the series heading into E3 where we’re bound to hear a lot more about the upcoming Uncharted 4 from Naughty Dog.

The multiplayer portion of the game has been free for a while, but single player costing nothing is a new development as of this morning, and is an obvious pick-up for anyone who owns a PS3. Though Uncharted 2 is perhaps heralded as the best game in the series, Uncharted 3 is pretty stellar as well, and certainly one of the better games available for the system
Nice.
[Show]
This would be a very strange, very specific glitch if this truly wasn’t an intentional move by Sony/Naughty Dog. The assumption would be that with a boatload of Uncharted 4 information forthcoming, they want anyone not caught up with the series to give it a try before E3 next week. When a game this well-known is available for free for essentially all PS3 players, the news is likely to spread like Nathan Drake setting an ancient sacred village on fire. And with E3 starting in full on Monday, the next few days and the weekend is more than enough time to beat the single player campaign.

If you’re asking whether or not you need to play the first few games before playing the third, I’d say no. I mean, you should, as both are great games and they’ll round out the characters a bit more, but I don’t think you’ll be completely lost if you don’t. Each Uncharted is pretty good at being a self-contained adventure, like series it emulates, Indiana Jones.

Uncharted 4 has experienced a number of shake-ups recently, with director Justin Richmond and writer Amy Hennig leaving Naughty Dog, their slack being picked up by The Last of Us’s Neil Druckman and Bruce Staley, who are now leading development on the game. It’s still not quite clear precisely what happened to cause these high profile departures, but at least with Druckman and Staley, the series remains in good hands.

Rather than continuing to read this article, you should be on PSN downloading Uncharted 3 before this entire thing turns out to be an accident. But hopefully it isn’t, and it’s a mix of generosity and good marketing as we wait to learn more about the next game in the series

I pirated that! I briefly worked at a B.Dalton's Software etc. in the mid 80's and was allowed to check out and take one piece of software home each night (which we would re-shrink wrap and sell as new later) Besides pirating over BBS's at 300-1200bps, I was able to get pretty much any game or business software that came out on C-64, Apple II or PC from the store. Ultima III was one of the first game I hacked with a hex editor.

Many years back, after I had left for college, my mother took several large floppy disk holders of copied games to the thrift store and sold them. They were packed full of C-64 games. Probably sold the lot for $5. Also sold my C-64, tape drive, floppy disk drive and C-64 monitor. :( If someone actually played my copy if Ultima III, they probably wondered why they didn't have to fight the final boss as I added a side bridge to bypass him. Kinda at the dawn of game mods!

Anyway, not sure how it holds up over time with those few pixels and kb, but Ultima III was great as I remember it.

My C64 died an untimely death sometime in 1988 or early 1989. I can't remember what exactly went wrong with it but at that point I moved on to a 286/AT at probably a blazing 8MHz or so! Recently I have picked up a C64 along with a 1541 Ultimate II which was actually fairly expensive since it came from overseas. I haven't really spent a lot of time with it. I'm sure an emulator or whatever would have sufficed, and been much cheaper, but there's nothing like having the actual hardware for that authentic nostalgic feel!

That's cool to have the original c64 like that. Nice.

The oldest PC I still have is a Mac Plus from the late 80's with it's 7 inch, handful of pixels, screen! It should still function but I haven't turned it on in over 20 years. No good games on the old Macs anyway!

Hell yeah. So glad I don't buy anything through PSN or Vita. They give it all to you eventually through PS+.

Was crysis 3 the one that was single player only? Think I remember multiplayer in either 1 or 2 being a lot of fun.

Xbox Live Freebies for August:

360:

Motocross Madness
Dishonored

Xbox One:

Crimson Dragon
Strike Suit Zero

On Xbox 360, once you download a free game, it is yours to keep even if your Xbox Live Gold subscription lapses
Hmmm get to keep games even if no Xbox Live. PS+ users get to keep their games even if sub lapses? Better value?
