Re: Pacific Rim Trailer #1
Del Toro even got permission from Gabe to use the exact same voice actor prior to shooting. Pretty sweet!

That must've been a crazy day. "Mr. Newell? I have Guillermo Del Toro on the line for you."
Re: Pacific Rim Trailer #1
Hah, just saw that trailer.
I recognised the kid from Sons of Anarchy's voiceover first, then laughed when GlaDOS came on.
Should be awesome if they do it like Sucker Punch....

Re: Pacific Rim Trailer #1
It was good. There was a lot in the various trailers that I would have preferred to be surprised by, but it's still epic in scope and scale. The story was kind of throw away, but I was grinning ear to ear during the lengthy robot vs monster action sequences. It ranks among the best CGI I have ever seen, especially the water/rain effects.
Too bad it didn't do well at the box office!

Re: Pacific Rim Trailer #1
As giant robot vs monster movies go, it was above average.
They attempted at least a little character development and threw in some humor. Not a movie you would re-watch very often or at all.

While the 3D wasn't up to the likes of movies shot in native 3D like Avatar, Life of Pi, or Prometheus, it had perhaps the best post conversion 3D I have ever seen. I can't wait to see it again on my TV at home.

I loved this movie as far as dumb, summer blockbusters goes.
I liked this as much as I liked Independence Day.

I loved it... wasnt really excited until it came out and I started reading some reviews.. this was an awesome summer action flick. Very impressed with what Del Toro did with it.

I enjoyed this as much, if not more, on the second viewing.
So much fun.
