I received a WiiU for Christmas and I really enjoy it. The controller is great and has a plethora of additional functions that I was unaware of until it was in my hands and I had some practical application with it. It works well with the games I have used it with, even elevating the experience in the cases it was used exceptionally well (ZombiU and Nintendoland).
While the system is suffering from a soft launch, a game drought, lack of 3rd party support, and late ports, the potential is there and I believe Nintendo first party games alone will make it worth the purchase for others further on down the road.
Next month I'll be getting Lego City Undercover, which is an exclusive. It's basically an open world GTA style game done with the well known Lego game formula. What can I say? I like the Lego games. Monster Hunter 3 HD is also out next month. I may skip that one for now because I have the Wii version and never played it so I feel some "gamer guilt" that won't let me simply repurchase it at full price. After March? Welcome to the motherfucking drought of droughts. There isn't an exclusive with a release date post March 2013 at this time.
Coming down the road (eventually) are some really fantastic WiiU exclusives IMO.
Pikmin 3
Wonderful 101 http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/02/01/wo ... ps-trailer
X http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/01/23/mo ... pg-trailer
3D Mario
Wind Walker HD (I never played the original)
Mario Kart
Brawl
Bayonetta 2
Honestly, "X" alone justifies a system purchase for me, but Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 likely would have done so as well.
WiiU has a year lead on the other platforms for next gen, but once again it is well behind the curve in terms of tech. I hope that Nintendo continues to offer gaming experiences I cannot get on any other platform and for the love of Christ, kick out the games at a faster rate than what we are seeing now.

Re: The Official WiiU Thread!
The only good thing I have to say about Wii U is that they were smart enough to copy the 360's controller and not the god awful PS3 controller.
