Playstation 3D Display

Post by Animalor »

So the 24" PS 3D display is currently 200$ off (299$) at EBGames up here in Canada.

2 weeks ago, I had won a 200$ gift certificate at a local mall and when I saw this deal today, I ended up going and buying this display. Coupled with the discount, I walked out with the display for only 140$ out of pocket. The thing is 1080p, 240Hz refresh rate and comes with a Motorstorm Apocalypse and 3d Glasses packed in. Has 2 HDMI and 1 component.

I'll be replacing my current, 21" computer monitor with it and will report back on the experience.

Ok, First impressions.

I've never owned stereostropic 3d before and so far, this is really impressive. There's a bit of eye strain but Motorstorm Apocalypse and ICO look phenomenal.

Both the PS3 and the 360 looks fantastic. I'm seeing definition in Skyrim that I I never had before.

The thing makes a decent PC monitor. Black text on white background is kind of jaggy but overall it's acceptable. I'm quite pleased with this.

For the price and what you got, that's a good deal.

I've had one for a while and it's a high quality TV even without the 3D.

Exactly. Throw in the game, which I enjoyed, and it's a a no brainer really.

Those are really my thoughts. The 3D is slick but the glasses are unconfortable over my regular prescription and I get a mild headache if I use em for more than 15-20 minutes. As has been said though, for the price I got it for and considering the pack-in game, it's a great panel.

Another thought - The 3d that impressed me the most last night has to be ICO that's part of the ICO/Shadow of the Colossus collection. That one was really well done.
