Cars 2

I took the family to the drive-in this weekend and saw Cars 2 followed by the latest Pirates movie. The whole family enjoyed both movies. Both kids (4 & 8 ) stayed awake until the end of Pirates but my 4 year old passed out on the drive home.

Cars 2 was a lot of fun and focused more on Mater than Lightning McQueen. It's like watching a James Bond movie in some ways. Take the family!

It's the first Pixar movie to be certified "rotten" on rotten tomatoes. However, the audience reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, scoring the movie at around 95% good reviews. The movie will probably have legs and go on to make a ton of money like the other Pixar movies.

I have no interest in seeing it because I really didn't like the first Cars movie. I don't like the fact that Pixar is concentrating on sequels so much lately. Their original characters and ideas are a big part of what makes them great IMO, and they're slowly slipping away from that.

I thought Cars 2 was a really well done, fun movie. Frankly I've always thought that Mater was a much more fun character than Lightning was and they used him to great effect in this flick.

I didn't enjoy this movie at all, but my daughter liked it. I can't stand Larry the Cable guy so that's probably why I didn't like this movie since it was focused on him.

Where we going?! (For the Opie and Anthony fans out there)
