Stars - Senators

Post by Shaerra »

Just came from the game. OMG those Canadians make hockey look easy sometimes...I think many of them are born with ice skates on.

Stars 5
Ottowa 3

Was a great 3rd period comeback for the Stars, but much <3 for Ottowa's skills!

The Sens are my home team. I'd go see them more often if the tickets wern't retardedly expensive.

The Senators are playing pretty good considering they're not getting paid or the team is near bankruptcy. Unfortunately, I live 7 hours north of Ottawa so I can't make it to the game, Toronto is only 4 hours away but I hope that team fails.

Go Canada!

But .... Ottawa is ENE of Toronto. If you are North of Ottawa by 7 hours, how could you possibly be significantly closer to Toronto?

Ottawa, my apologies.

I rarely have occasion to spell Canadian cities (I'm considerably closer to Mexica :))...Grats turning a compliment into a bad thing.

The Sens finances are a little mysterious, but as they come from a "smaller market" so they generally have less advertising/sponsorship revenue. They also have a bunch of very talented players that they needed to pay well if they want to keep them, so it gets into the realm less revenue + more expenses (so far we haven't heard about any fraudulent management like in Buffalo).

As an aside, according to thier respective web sites, Dallas has more Canadian players than Ottawa does on the roster. Dallas (counting the guys they have injured and some healthy but not dressed) has 17 Canadians, 5 Americans and 4 Europeans on their roster. Ottawa (who only list their active roster) have 12 Canadians and 10 Europeans. What probably impressed Shaerra was the European guys like Hossa, Bonk, Alfredsson... those guys are awesome.

Umm I am not a bandwagon for the Red Wings, I remember when they sucked, I am a happily celebrating fan now, as I was a sadly commiserating fan back then.

Sharks baby! Evgeni Nabokov is money in the bank, and we got some young guys like Patrick Marleau who are gonna be awesome in a few years. We got close last year, and I think we could have a good shot at the cup in the next few years.

Yeah, Bonk was a badass.

And yes, Dallas has some of the best Canadians money can buy. :) Some of our Michigan guys are awesome too.

I feel bad for the Senators. At the game, someone mentioned how they were getting paid shit, but they were playing like they were getting paid top dollar.

Leafs?

Um yeah... and when is the last time they won Lord Stanley's mug? Sometime about the beginning of recorded history? If you're in the dance, and don't win the prize, coming in 4th or 5th don't mean a damned thing!

And they lost to.... the Red Wings!

I see a common pattern developing here. I'm just glad a Devils fan hasn't shown up to remind me of '95. :)

That was just so that you guys wouldn't feel bad about getting swept, and so the Wings could win the Cup at the Joe. ;)
