French torture porn. Like, the worst (best?) French torture porn I have ever seen. Take my review of Mayrtars and multiply it x2. This film is fucking crazy.

Something political is happeneing in France, so a group of people rob some place and flee into the remote French countryside to lay low. Once there, they encounter a goddamn trashcan mix of every single horror movie ever made. Nazi incest cannibal family from hell stalk the group throughout their "home built on top of an abadoned mine" for like, 2 hours straight killing them 1 by 1. These people die in some of the most intense, uncomfortable, and graphic ways possible.

This entire movie is fucking crazy. It had such a slow start, I was thinking "This movie better pick up soon". When it did, I was thinking "This movie should probably slow down soon" and it never ever did. It went zero to 300 in about 3 seconds flat. Once it hit that breakneck speed, it just kept going and going. There were several, I repeat, several times during the movie where I talked out loud at the TV saying things like "Oh Jesus, come on!" and "Really? Really?" just because it kept one-upping itself in terms of gore and sheer craziness.

It's hard to rate a movie like this. I don't know anyone else I would even tell to watch this. It's kind of in a class all it's own IMO. It's weakest point is that it's completely unoriginal. We all know what is going to happen from the description on the back of the box. However, the journey was much more intense than I ever expected. I guess for what it did, I would give it an 8/10. It's a pure slasher.

This flick is streaming on Netflix atm, but I think I'll try and track down a DVD at some point in time. I would like this in my collection.

I enjoyed this one as well and would agree with everything fair said about it. Very intense, creepy, and violent.
