Busy fall in 2010

Post by Kilmoll the Sexy »

Too many big franchise hits coming this fall.....not sure how to play them all. Just off the top of my head I can think of my big 3 that I have to buy and try to play all at once:

Fallout: Vegas

---no possible way to pass up a Fallout game after what they did with Fallout 3. It was one serious wait for them to actually get that game done, but I am glad they took the time and did it right. Can't wait to immerse myself in that world again.

Fable III

---to enjoy Fable games, you have to stop listening to any hype right up front. Do not read anything about it, just buy it and then sit back and take your time enjoying it. If you are someone whose gaming habits are to beat a game as fast as possible, skip them. If you like to really get into the little side parts of a game you play, then this franchise is for you.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

---this franchise has me gun-shy (pun intended). The single player portion of the CoD games is pretty short and where they make it up is the multi-player and the co-op plays. After the horrid World at Camp and Modern Campfare 2 I swore I would never buy game from this franchise again. They seem to be going for eliminating some of what made the previous 2 games suck for multi-player and added in some exciting decade old options that were stolen directly from Rainbow 6. The multi-player terrorist hunt type games and getting point to buy new gear and customizing your guns/outfit have been around forever but add a bit to a franchise that needed something. Still a little worried about this one, but will end up buying it based on what I have seen so far from it.

There's definitely a bunch of games coming out, but there always is for the pre xmas rush.

1. Fallout New Vegas
2. Castlevania
3. Enslaved

That's it for me on the full price games....don't want to deal with any of the others at full price. I'm already sure that the castlevania will not be worth it :) but I'm a sucker for certain franchises...but then again...Patrick Stewart voice work!

the rest at on sale prices:

Civ 5...eventually
Gothic4
maybe Two worlds 2...maybe...
007 BloodStone (side note, the trailer has more lens flare than ever seen by man's eyes!)
Duke Nukem Forever (zomg it was playable at PAX!)

Day 1 & already pre-ordered:

Halo: Reach (retail version better have a farking HUD!)
Fable 3
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Download:

Everything else..

Could never get into Fallout 3 but I'm sure the Wayne Newton version will sell well. I have absolutely no interest in Crap Ops. I haven't been reading very good things about Medal of Honor yet, especially the multiplayer. Since I only buy games for the MP aspect, skippit!

I picked up Civ5, Dead Rising 2, and Professor Layton. Dead Rising 2 is much of the same thus far.

Fable 3 and Fallout New Vegas on pre-order. With Fable 3 launching a week after Fallout, I doubt I'll play much of it. Amazon has had some good pre-order deals recently.

Just ordered Dead Rising 2 (PS3). It has a nice $10 credit with Amazon.com purchase. Will be using that and a $25 gift card for Fallout: Vegas or something else. Good stuff!
