2. The Hyrule Diet

Living off of bats and snakes you kill does wonders to your digestive system. I'd love to have a salad, or a meal that I didn't kill first with my sword, and then heat over the Blue Candle. Which, if the flame runs out, I have to leave that area and then come back into. What the f*ck?

4. The Occasional Tease From the Princess

Don't get me wrong, Princess Zelda is definitely hot, and at least a 9. But, if she can randomly appear to offer me words of encouragement, why can't she just vanish from the prison she's being held in? Or at least let me make out with her for longer than one second. Just sayin…

I don't know if anyone's been following this, holy crap!

Nothing I've seen there would surprise me at all at the local Wally World, except maybe the cross dressers. Maybe the beard would make it passable.

I think it was crap he went in like that. He was never going to get the ball, if he wanted to block the shot he should have come at a wider angle, towards the front of him.

A man has died after an eel that was inserted into his rectum gnawed away at his bowels, causing agonising injuries which were eventually fatal.

The 59-year-old man, a chef, was reportedly taken to a Sichuan hospital complaining of abdominal pain, dehydration and a great deal of anal bleeding. He was soon diagnosed as being in a severe state of shock.

Doctors were mystified as to the cause, and obtained permission from his family to undertake an exploratory laparotomy. Cutting open his innards, they discovered a 50cm long Asian swamp eel lodged in his rectum.

Though dead, the eel had apparently already wrought havoc on his innards, biting its way through his intestines prior to dying. Internal bleeding and infection rapidly set in.

He was reported to have eaten a lot of eel the previous day, but otherwise doctors had no idea how the creature had got there. His condition quickly worsened.

He lingered for 10 days in intensive care but eventually succumbed to the injuries and sepsis.

The likely cause was eventually established – he had apparently been drinking with friends, and had passed out. His friends had decided it would be amusing to insert a live eel into his anus whilst he was comatose.

Police have reportedly begun an investigation.

Holy crap. Just over a month later, look at this almost identical injury to another goalie, this time in MLS:

Note that the first video was a foul on the goalie of Red Bull Salzburg (of the Austrian Premier League) and the second video was a foul by the New York Red Bulls on the opposing team's goalie. You've got to admit that's a pretty fucking crazy coincidence. Maybe Red Bull™ is just paying it forward?

That's one of the only good beers to drink when in Utah, considering it's not watered down like most out-of-state beers have to be (to 4% or less avb). Wasatch and Squatters Breweries make that state just a bit more bearable.

And yeah it's got pretty much the greatest label ever.

They also have one called The Devastator (really fucking good) which features a giant ram charging through Salt Lake City with the main LDS temple and capitol building on fire

Don't think they respect Mormons too much.

a co-worker broke her back in a few places earlier this year, and she's been in one of those tortoise shell braces since mid-summer. She finally got bored with the simple white shell, and she drew a few things on the front of the brace. The back of the brace just says "I'm not dead yet"

New Soda Brings the Bubbles to Bacon

And so the bacon bonanza continues. Earlier this year we reported on how this smoky sensation has been finding its way into everything from peanut brittle to cupcakes. Now comes something to wash it all down with - bacon soda.

The carbonated beverage is the brainchild of two Seattle-based companies - the bacon-centric J&D Foods, whose other hog-tinged products include salt, mayonnaise, and popcorn; and Jones Soda, an independent bottler, which has previous experience in creating meat-infused soda with its popular Turkey and Gravy flavor. Uh, mmm, eeek.

The two companies discussed the possibility of collaborating for years, said J&D's co-founder Justin Esch in a phone call from Seattle. "Bacon soda just made sense."

Though initially amused when asked to describe the flavor profile of this bubbly bottle of bacon, Esch soon grew serious. "The bacon taste is undeniably porcine," said Esch. But he was emphatic when stressing, "It's bacon versus pork loin. There's a crispiness. A fried bacon taste."

That feeling of crispiness is helped by the carbonation according to Esch. "It brings the sizzle."

He suggests trying the soft drink with a turkey club or BLT and a bag of chips. And for those who prefer their meat beverages with a little kick of the hard stuff Esch recommends trying a Makers and Bacon.
