I'm not sure these are a good idea. Couldn't someone conceivably arsonate (probably not a real word... but should be!) someone else's house from far away? I'm not sure how hot they get but I imagine if you left it in one spot long enough you could get some ignition.

I think a 1 watt laser will diffuse pretty fast in the atmosphere. Effective range on this thing can't be more than a couple meters.

Ive seen the super (over $100) lasers in action....

They can noticably reflect off stuff a mile a way (street signs are the most fun). It's a little 'wow' the range they get.... however, the real question should be... why?
