Machete!

Post by Canelek »

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/44943 - Trailer

Not sure when this is coming out, or if it is even real, but it does indeed look like fun. You may remember this as a "commercial" in between the films of Grindhouse.

Danny Trejo is basically awesome.

It is real. I think they did most of the filming here in the Austin area...last year? I remember having to take detours in the downtown area because of it.

I've seen some wild promotional studio stunts in the past, but setting up the passage of a law to promote a film takes the cake.

According to wikipedia, the US release date is 9/3/2010. Also, Tom "motherfucking" Savini has a small role. Woohoooo!

From looking at the last trailers, i assume they did a little extra filming to make it fit the new law, but great idea :).
And its a Rodriguez non-children movie (gotta say that because of Spy Kids), so of course i have to see it :)

The intro to the trailer was new. The actual filming wrapped up last year.

Yeah, but some of the things in the trailer looked to be fit to the new law, specifically the guy he is supposed to shoots speech sounds like its made for it....or the made the law for the movie :)

The movie was written before the law, so they must have assembled a pirated copy of the movie in Arizona in order to get the law right!

Yeah. I'm sure Draft House will be a blast since the movie was shot there! Also, I like rodriguez's movies better on a lower budget. El Mariachi was awesome.

This movie never even came down here. We got Vampires Suck for 3 straight weeks instead. I fucking hate teenagers.

Loved this one, and hoping we get to see the next two movies! Machete Kills & Machete Kills Again.

I've been looking online for an online link to the video that the drafthouse showed before Machete in their Shut Up series. It was looking like a good movie trailer with Danny Trejo, and then a cell phone rang (on a movie set) and he started going off about people having their phones on when they should be quiet.

I'd like to see a spinoff with Tom "Motherfucking" Savini as the lead. I really wanted to see more of his bounty hunter/assassin character. That, or have him reprise his Dusk Till Dawn "Sex Machine" character.
