i've lived in the South my whole life. I've never seen anybody put sugar on grits.

i can imagine it would be good though.

baked cheese grits are good too =)

Aye, it is not the yank way. Southerners do put it on their grits down here, some even with a touch of cinnamon. It is the southern way because they also put sugar into tea. Case in point, go to a northern restaurant and order tea, its unsweetened. Do it down south and you'll get 4 cavities and a side of biscuits.

yeah but most Southerners think tea is served cool. To get a cup of tea (instead of Iced Tea) you have to order Hot Tea in most restarants... talk about backwards :P

mmm...sweet tea...

I just got a craving for Sonny's all ya can eat BBQ <insert dead animal here> and some of their tea. Unfortuantely, I haven't seen a Sonny's south of Bradenton...

I like my grits two ways: alone w/ butter and sugar or beside some eggs w/ salt and pepper.
