Re: Allod
They should have went with the hottie female characters in skimpy clothes. I watched a few videos of game play and it looked like pretty standard WoW Clone stuff. That G-Potato money system is same used in Rappelz which has better graphics and more interesting game to it. If the crazy fail rates for improving your equipment are the same as Rappelz, it's going to suck hard.

Yea it is tragically mediocre.Leonaerd wrote:If its mediocrity won't kill it, the stupid name will.
I wish these MMO developers would stop trying to make exact copies of a 6 year old game.
Cannibalizing gameplay elements (WOW and EQ2 copy each other in the best ways possible) is one thing but to copy (exactly) architecture style and character design just reeks of lazy development.
Running through one of the starting areas I kept getting WOW deja vu.

It dosent scream WOW to me, OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS just measure ALL mmos against WoW for some reason.. At least you have to push ATTACK rather than push 1 key and wait for someone to heal you.
Im actually having fun @ lvl 7 heh once you complete most all of the quests you leave the nOOb starting area and you cant get back to it to PL ..which I like.
AND its FREE.

Re: Allod
There has been 2 MMOs I've compared directly to WOW.
Runes of Magic and this game.
Runes of Magic was practically a WOW clone, right down to the fonts used. The UI in that game is a dead ringer for WOW.
Allods is more of a visual clone of WOW. The game mechanics and UI are slightly different. I could post some screenshots that many people would think are from WOW.

Re: Allod
In regards to Runes of Magic, I have to say it's a pretty great game - especially for free. Fulfills the EQ itch quite well.
