Funk, I'm with you on this one.. Would like to have the option to speak in party and not in game..
I don't use team speak but this sounds retarded. Wouldn't it make complete sense to use party speak? Why would you possibly want to use game speak if you're on opposite sides trying to use strategy to defeat the other side? Sounds like a major logic flaw.
By party I mean a party you set up with your friends outside of the game, you'd know if you had a xbox you could use Live on :)

By default, you have to be in the game chat channel with everyone in the lobby, and with your entire team in the game.

No big deal then!

One of these days I'll buy another Xbox and not mod it. My current Xbox, which sounds like a turbo jet, has lasted such a long time probably due to me opening it up and applying good thermal to the heat sinks for GPU and CPU and also adjusting the X-Bar which is usually the culprit for causing RRoD.

If my Xbox died, I'd buy a new one and legit copy of Borderlands because Im so hooked on it.

PS, how the hell can anyone (Kwon?) play Borderlands on a PS3 with those lame ass triggers on the PS3 controller? That would suck so bad in a game like Borderlands.

Glad I decided to give Amazon Prime a try. Often I just want one or two things but end up waiting to make a large purchase, then end up spending far too much on shipping anyway. This will make itself up in no time. Plus, 78 or so bucks per year isn't bad at all.

Bought the game today and it will arrive tomorrow (3.99 extra for overnight). I also used my $25 gift cert so 30-something bucks for the game is pretty swingin'.

Got it on 360, since that seems to be the most frequently-used route for this one.

Haven't got it yet, is it better on PC or Console?

Don't think it matters really.
Looks great on PS3, I'm sure it looks great on PC and 360 as well.
The multiplayer might be marginally better on the 360.

I was debating getting it on PS3 or PC but ended up going with PS3 because I find video games are a lot more enjoyable when my ass is on my couch

Hey winnow, walmart will be selling the 360 arcade fpr 199$ and then giving a 100$ gift card. It's like getting the thing for 100$. Amazon did a similar deal twice this past weekend too.

I'm tempted to get a 3rd since controllers are 50$ alone...

Wal-Mart already did that last weekend as well. I went late, because for $100 why not, but they didn't have any left.

Multiplayer is amazing.. the amount of crap to unlock is unreal.. between guns, mods, special weapons, artillery strikes etc.. its gonna take a while to get them all...

Still need to try the single player and the spec ops...

It was EASY! I have no trouble with the PS3-controller? It's perfect for me :)

Killzone 2, Lost Planet 2, Mwarfare 2, Blands, no problemo :)

I usually have most kills in KZ2 as well :)

The first time i tried FPS on the PS3 (with controller) it was quite hard, since i was soo used to mouse n keyboard but i adapted after a bit.

That's because of years of training your hands to handle pain...sticking them in hot coals, karate chopping boards, etc. Most people don't have Kung-Fu grip hands capable of withstanding a direct hit with a sledgehammer! Can't compare The Kwon's hands to normal hands.

I grabbed the PC version of this because I knew the graphics were excellent and capable of more than the PS3/360 versions.

The graphics are about as photo realistic as I want to get in a game. What really makes it impressive are the animations. The people walking around in the game look incredibly natural.

I wish they'd take the guts of this game and make an RPG out of it. One set in the past, present, future, or alternate reality. Anything just to see how it would be.

My wireless router has been slowly dieing for about 3 months. Whenever I played MW2 this past week, it would take me 3-4 tries to populate a list and once I started it would often be a disaster. It was so bad, my character would warp through walls and move in random directions even when I wasn't touching my controller. Despite things being that bad, I continued to play becaus I could somehow secure a decent connoction about 1 out of every 3 games or so.

Well, I just got a new wireless router and it's on like Donkey Kong now. My last game was 35 kills to 4 deaths, with a 5 man killing spree (personal best so far). Previous to the new router, I was lucky to hit a 50/50 split. Hopefully my stats improve over the next couple of weeks, but I'm kind of in the hole right now.

As an aside, my PC connection went from 3mps to 16.5 mps. I really shouldn't have put that off for so long.

Shit, I would have to go bake myself a cookie if I got 35 kills/4 deaths in one game. My kill/death ratio generally sucks, but it's because I don't have the patience to sit around and camp like most people seem to do in this game. It's really bad in the hardcore modes, which I avoid like the plague. Everyone just gets their sniper out, finds a spot to sit and wait, and mows people down when they come around the corner. This isn't fun for me in the least, I'm much more of a guns blazing guy, which is why I liked Gears so much more than other shooters.

I think the best I've ever done in a game is 35 kills or so, but I probably had 20-30 deaths in that game too. I've got like 8 or 9 streak so far I think for my best.. The first night it was out one of my friends got a 28 kill streak but hadn't unlocked the nuke yet :( I think a typical game for me is probably 15-20 kills, and 15-25 deaths. I also don't play it religiously either, so if I put some effort in and forced myself to be a little more patient that would improve.

Well, I just played for awhile and pretty much got raped. So much for my connection being an excuse :P You definately get better as you rank because your weapons/perks get better and you learn the map layouts. I still think it sucks being placed in in teams where people are 3x your rank. There are enough people playing that you would think that could be avoided.

I like domination maps, since it gives people a reason to move around. I just did a deathmatch on the train car map in wintertime (forget the name), and eventually the time ran out with the highest person having 12 kills. Everyone sat around with sniper rifles for the entire match. My 6 kills were from sneaking up and killing snipers who were laying on the ground. All of my deaths were from snipers.

I think Terminal is my favorite map. There's room for every playstyle. You also get rewarded for using the long, exposed hallway to outflank the other team. When I make it through there alive, I'm going to get 2-3 kills pretty easily. I have 2-3 nice locations on that map that I move between.

And Sylvus, I actually think my best killstreak is 7. It's on the stat board, but not near my xbox atm but you can check your friends out.

It would be nice to be placed with people closer to your rank, but there are two things I would interject about that.

1- I think the reason it seems like rank doesn't factor in during match making for the last handful of shooters, is because it makes match making take longer and people bitched too much about that (Gears of War 2 was a great example). So basically, would you rather wait 3-5 minutes for a match and be with people your rank, or get into a match right away? I guess I'd rather get in a match quick, cause waiting for matches just breaks up the flow of things.

2- Especially in this game, rank doesn't necessarily mean shit. Anybody that puts a bunch of time into playing this game is going to rank up fast, even if they suck major donkey ass.

PC Kwon!
I've been playing a lot the last few days. Very addicting to try and unlock the various perks (and the pro bonus you get if you use em enough!) and weapons etc.
I usually pick a rifle that seems fun and try to unlock every single attachment for it, then dump that and pick a new rifle etc. It's kinda tiring and sometimes I find myself thinking "What am I doing? Just pick the weapon you like the most and go to town!", but nope.. once I've unlocked all the attachments for a weapon I go "Well, no point in using this anymore...".. dunno if it's a good or bad thing!
Best so far is a 20 man killstreak. Got 11(or is it 13?) a few times for the AC-130 killstreak reward, much fun!

I had a lot of fun on the new maps last night. Although, after 3 hours of play I don't think I even played all of the new maps since they do the random rotation thing. Kind of annoying actually. Figuring out the maps is always fun until you come across a group of people that already know it like the back of thier hand. On one of the new maps, I would run 10 feet, dead. Respawn, run 5 feet in a different direction, dead. Repeat for 10 minutes. Grrr.

I was ending matches with scores like 10 kills - 25 deaths, but I was #1 or 2 on the points for almost every single game (playing Domination). Weird.
