Re: Joss Whedon's Dollhouse
The way this is going, I wish American TV would be similar to other countries where shows are scheduled for x amount of time so the writers know they have x amount of time to get a, b ,c plot lines done and tied off. I like how it's all lining up.
Re: Joss Whedon's Dollhouse
Not really sure that could work here as the networks can yank your show whenever they want for whatever reason they want. Take Firefly for example! Plus if they don't yank it and it becomes a hit show they want to keep it going for as long as possible.

Re: Joss Whedon's Dollhouse
The show ended the complete opposite that it began. From disappointing and forgettable to engaging and satisfying. Will miss it.
Re: Joss Whedon's Dollhouse
Perhaps if it was engaging and satisfying from the beginning rather than disappointing and forgettable it might still be around. Future TV show creators take note!Dregor Thule wrote:The show ended the complete opposite that it began. From disappointing and forgettable to engaging and satisfying. Will miss it.

What? I was offering advice. I didn't get the show cancelled.

Re: Joss Whedon's Dollhouse
Oh no, I agree completely. I nearly stopped watching it after a couple episodes it was so boring. Glad I didn't. I'm not decrying them for canceling it, it was probably the right thing to do. This wasn't a Firefly situation where a great show didn't get the proper chance it deserved. Dollhouse was given, what, 26 episodes? Its abysmal start really shot it in the foot. I hope Whedon also re-learned to stay the fuck away from Fox. Between the time slot, and more importantly supposed studio interference in the beginning of the show, it's amazing it ever got a second season.

Re: Joss Whedon's Dollhouse
What constantly amazes me (more than creators letting Fox near their work) is that the Fox execs who's major accomplishments are shows that have no plot, no direction, and no character development (aka "reality" shows) would feel the need to interfere with shows that rely heavily on those elements.
"There is at least as much need to curb the cruel greed and arrogance of part of the world of capital, to curb the cruel greed and violence of part of the world of labor, as to check a cruel and unhealthy militarism in international relationships." -Theodore Roosevelt
