Surprised nobody has mentioned this up-coming series.

And really.. whoever thought SyFy > SciFi is really ghey.

Gotta give them credit for going through with the name change, despite one person thinking it was a reasonable idea. I have no clue, but if WWE is still on that channel, I bet they were part of the influence.

Show looks OK, I missed everything that happened on Atlantis (aren't they trapped far from earth too?) and the last few seasons of SG-1, but it's kind of nice that none of it matters.

Mmm, this one looks the weakest premise yet, and so it's being sold on the massive ensemble cast like Atlantis I guess.

The strange part is the kill off these spin-offs because the cast gets too expensive, and they're starting out with Robert Carlyle?

Oh, and SyFy does indeed suck.

Who could possibly think SyFy was a good name?

I'm sure Sci Fi may have been an identity issue but they could have picked just about anything and it would be better than SyFy.

Anyone watching? This is actually a pretty excellent show. MUCH different feel than the previous SG shows, more of a BSG vibe to it which is always a good thing. Definitely recommend it. Carlyle is great in it! A few of the characters are jaw to the floor stupid, but overall very entertaining.

I've watched each episode so far. It has a lot of promise, but some of the acting and dialogue is weak. Visually it is almost identical to BSG...even the story has several obvious parallels, but it is not the "next BSG" as some people were hoping. BSG is better than 99% of what TV has had to offer, so that's not a condemnation of SGU. It's well worth watching and I think it will get better with time. I will definitely be watching the first season each week.

I've watched every episode so far, and I think it has great potential. Elyse Levesque is really hot, but I really hope they don't turn her character into the ship's whore (She flirty with Eli in this week's episode and next week she's fucking Lt. Scott).

Seeing Peter Deluise in a brief scene was pretty cool, and he directed that episode too.

I'm happy they didn't push the EXACT same cast formula that SG1 -> Atlantis used. To me, this show is more analagous to the transition from TNG (which had become the Patrick Stewart Show with Special Guest Star Brent Spiner) to DS9. I just hope they don't neglect the ensemble element that IMO is what can drive this show forward.

Ah man, this shows good. I'm excited to watch it each week, and the way they ended the mid-season finale was great. Now to wait!

I watched all 10 episodes over the weekend.

What the hell happened in episode 8?
[Show]
It's the time warp, alien lizard episode where everyone dies.
The episode ends on a cliffhanger and then the next episode completely ignores episode 8 and starts a new storyline.

Overall the series is entertaining but the flow of the show isn't very consistent. There are some bad episodes (notably whatever the hell that death lizard episode was)

The final episode (10) of the first half season made up for the two crappy episodes before it. Looking forward to see what they do in the second half of the season. This is no BSG, but it's more than the eye candy that V is so far.

I didn't think it was so hard to catch, but my brother had the same complaint. It wasn't a cliffhanger, the viewer was supposed to assume that they got it right this time. You'd already seen everything, rehashing it would have been repetitive, so they let the audience fill in the blank of the obvious outcome.

My girlfriend is thinking that Rush comes back to be their nemesis, to screw over the expedition and take the Destiny for himself. I would have to agree since Robert Carlyle plays an awesome villain.

It's sad for me actually as I really wanted to see Rush turn out to be a hero in this show. Though if the same thing happened to me as to the Colonel I'd have done the same thing. I loved his, "I'm not asking" line when he said he was going to the planet as well.

I'm also not happy that it looks like Rush is going to turn into a full-on evil person. I like the characters that are tweeners like Baltar...this show has stolen some shaky cams shots and quick zoom-in shots from BSG, maybe they should look a little deeper into BSG to see what makes characters interesting
That lizard episode is bad anyway I look at it. Skip episode 8 (maybe even 9) if you're a new viewer and short on time!

I thought that Time was one of the best episodes. I personally loved the end, as it was the complete opposite of most Hollywood products. No spoon feeding, no warm fuzzy, just the next episode to tell you the journey continues.

Just found these webisodes for SGU, some of them are actually pretty good. They start off really short and disposable, but there's some really funny ones later, and some that build on the characters.

After a couple months, there would be more kinos in the shower than anywhere else.

Why no comments on this show since the second half of season one resumed? I enjoyed the first ten episodes. I'm downloading 11-19 right now to have a look.

No negative reason for no comments, still good stuff. They're grounding it a bit more in the stargate franchises universe, which is a little disappointing I guess, but I'm still greatly entertained.

Episode 11 seemed to continue the quality level of the original episodes although I somethings didn't sit right with me:
[Show]
I don't like how they quickly resolved the issues between Rush and Col Young. It seemed like the producers decided they had made a mistake and quickly threw an episode together that would get Rush back on the ship. The Aliens were interesting though and the special effects for this show aren't bad considering it's SciFy

I know the ship is self healing but it has two big holes in it now. If the ship's forcefield is that good (whic goes down from time to time), why do they need a metal hull at all?
Looking forward to more BSG style shaky came stuff!

I caught up through episode 20.

I find myself entertained by this show. It's not "great" but there is good character development. Some of the episodes feel like "fillers" but otherwise not bad.

Hopefully they are at least able to wrap the series up in some manner. I am afraid that they have already finished the last 10 episodes though :(

At least Eureka and Warehouse 13 will be back.
