Re: New Moon
My wife loved it. She gave the first one a 6/10. She gave this a 10/10. Her and her group of friends were as giddy as schoolgirls and are going back to watch it again next weekend.
I have a friend that works in a theater and he said this is the exact same audience that flocked to the movies 11 years ago and carried Titanic to break box office records. New Moon already has a few records under it's belt such as biggest November opening weekend, biggest holiday opening weekend, and the fastest film to cross the $100 million mark. I didn't go see it with her nor have I read the books. I still have no predisposition to hate the movie and have a hard time understanding the viewpoint of those that do. It's a total chick flick. It does not pander to the male audience, like the other 97% of blockbuster movies. Transformers 2 was the last movie I saw that deserved some real hate, and most people thought that was "ok".
Much like the Wii fitness sales, this movie has tapped the potential of the female market in a big way. If companies start to trend towards this demographic, what does that mean for the rest of us?

Re: New Moon
You would watch this, Winnow!
I want the author to be thrown in the deepest dungeon in the world, and for the rest of her miserable existence to be fed only bread and water, while being forced to watch all of the great vampire movies as a constant reminder of the great lore she worked so hard to fuck up.

Looks accurate to me. Some funny parts in that! That's like a 45 minute review of movie! I have a feeling he's looking at a cam/pirated version in x2 speed down to his lower left as he talks about the movie. He looks down there constantly.
Since there's four books, I'm assuming four movies. I wonder how they going to explain the vampires (Edward) looking older even though he's supposed to be 17 all the time. In Harry Potter, at least the kids are growing up through the movies.

Re: New Moon
They are splitting the last book into 2 movies. They're also shooting them all pretty much back to back to back from my understanding. That should help with the age thing.Winnow wrote:Since there's four books, I'm assuming four movies.

Re: New Moon
I watched it and enjoyed it. Then again, I am a chick! I didn't go into it thinking that it was going to be the best movie ever made. Just some mindless entertainment.
