This game is so awesome. I'm playing through it in normal mode and I love how challenging even basic fights can be. I've died a lot throughout the game, but dying has never been so exciting. :P

Level 15 now and just beat High Dragon after dying about 10 times. Finished with 1 character alive with about 5% health. It really felt like a boss fight in EQ or WoW. Very fun.

Kev!

If you thought High Dragon was tough, try GaxKang (Kangaxx from Baldurs 2)!

Now thats a pesky fight! :D

Great drops though!

This game is getting great player reviews. I don't think I've heard of anyone who doesn't like it. I will jump all over this when I see it deeply discounted. I don't have time for another 100+ hour game right now.

Kwon!

I just got the quest for Gaxkang tonight. I'm very excited about finishing this quest, but I have so many other quests to do in Ozrammar first.

My only disappointment with this game is that there is no quest to make Heady Kiolas for a monk who trades only in songs about fishcakes.

I don't know how far along I am overall. I just finished Redcliffe Castle and went to the Mages Tower after that (tied to the Redcliffe Castle quest).

I can honestly say I don't think I've enjoyed a game this much in years. I am impressed everytime I play and can't wait to see what the next quest/conversation or area brings.

Combat is a lot of fun, but I find that sometimes it's either super easy or super hard. Tactics definately make a difference though as I find on the harder fights I'm constantly pausing, queing up moves, unpausing, rinse and repeat.

If you don't have this game, you are truly missing out on the best game I've seen in probably 2-3 years!

Kev you decided about a romantic interest in DA yet? :D

Did you know that it's possible with threesomes and even foursomes in DA? :D

Involving a certain place in Denerim lol

I'm going the mangina/lesbo route once I get that far! Haven't started Dragon Age yet, still finishing up Borderlands first pass. I'm pokey! Want to take my time and enjoy it.

Beat ya to it. M main is a female and she's already gotten steamy with some elf at the beginning of the game, now her and Leliana are lovers. Just a tad bit more approval til' they go back to her tent and get busy.

My dwarf gets it on regularly with Leliana and Morrigan. For some reason screwing Morrigan doesn't effect standing with Leliana and Morrigan seems to enjoy my "tent" without any strings attached. Zev also seems very excited to get with me as well, but I haven't acted on that because he creeps me out. :P

I'm not sure if there's a threesome in the game yet, but I'm pretty sure could inspire one there were.

There is a threesome AND a foursome in the game, involving Lelibard and a few others + Isabella in "The Pearl".

Have to do it before Isabella leaves though.

I'm pretty sure Zev has to be involved for the threesome/foursome to work. I'd have to check the guide to be sure though.

I think the guide also said that if you are mangina, you can pull off a threesome with some girl in Denerim (or whatever it's called) and Allistair.

I'm really enjoying Dragon Age so far, it's one of the best single-player RPG's I have ever played. Probably because it's the right genre for me (I have always loved FF7, but it's not the classic swords and sorcerers type of thing that is my favorite) and it's done so well.

I'm just disappointed that I got it the same week I got CoD:MW2, as I have trouble deciding which one to play.

Finished a first play through. I was stunned how well everything comes together considering how many choices you can make. The way things resolved with my team, Morrigan and Alistair in particular, you'd think it was a tightly scripted experience, intended to come off just so. I celebrated by trying the other origin stories, and they're fantastic. Honestly, I think the Human Noble line I went with the first time is the worst of them.

I kept running into characters I knew from the rest of the game as well as the other Origin stories. The two dwarf origin stories in particular intersected at a couple of points, much to my delight. They also change drastically depending on your gender.

Spoiler text seems almost pointless. Even if you've finished the whole game, I'd likely talk about things you never saw, just as I'm sure everyone else has seen things I missed because of the paths I took.

Spoiler for comic gold moment:
[Show]
Oghren: (drunk) That dog ruined it when he stole my pants! But I'll show him! I don't need my pants anyway!
Me: You're wearing your pants, Oghren.
Oghren: But the dog doesn't know that... it'll be his sodding downfall. Y'HEAR THAT, NUG-HUMPER?! I'm comin for ya! Prepare to DIE! (passes out)
I have a list of complaints about this game a mile long, but the storytelling is so tight, and adapts so unbelievably well to whatever choices you make, I'm just in awe. I'm running as a female city-elven scout this time, and just going through Ostegar again was like a completely different game.

It's a pretty easy choice for me. If I have 15ish minutes, I do a round of MW2. If I have a couple of hours, I do a more story driven game like Assassin's Creed 2. I'm going to do L4D 2 whenever I have about 90 minutes free.

Some games were made to be slowly chipped away at, while others demand lots of attention and dedication to complete. Dragon Age sounds pretty demanding to me (in a good way).

Until I get a new Xbox with an HDMI out, the choice is pretty easy for me: since my xbox is in the bedroom, I have to play Dragon Wars if it's after my fiancée goes to bed. :p

I just ordered it, was hell to get the proper Collectors Edition, since the euro CE version dont have the tin box and cloth map....WHAT is the bloody points of making a Collectors Edition and then releasing the euro version without the collectibles?

I had to get it from Ebay, where sadly enough, i could get the US version for over 30$ LESS than what the euro CE version cost....even including shipping.

So ill get it in a few weeks...and i tried to install a copy to try it out, and DAMN im impressed, still only in the origin start i guess, got to where you gotta light a fire in a tower that get overrun, but im really impressed with the storyline so far. Made a female city elf warrior, and i REALLY hate humans by now :)

Im gonna put it on hold till i get my CE version, then play it a lot i guess :)

Hey all, is it true that you can only unlock Blood Mage specialization if your main character is a mage? It's the last specialization I need to unlock and it seems to be a bitch. I tried every option during Redcliffe- saved Jowan the blood mage, entered the fade in different ways, made deals with the evil demon, etc...and I get no chance to learn it.

I've heard rumor that there is a time later in the game when the Denerim Alienage is unlocked, but I didn't catch it on my first play through and don't have a good save to go back to for it.

Thanks!

Not sure on the Blood Mage thing, I decided to kill the kid instead of make deals.

I'm still trying to get Morrigan to sleep with me. After figuring out she will never go lesbo, I had to create a male character and start over so I can experience the one minute of raw toon passion with undies on. Really don't like her attitude. I'm going to dump her right after I nail her. She's such a bitch when it comes to side quests, forcing me to ignore them unless I want to take a faction hit with her. I bet if I had the transformation powers she does, she'd want me to turn into a dog before hitting her.

The demon in the redcliffe quest will teach you blood magic. Don't know if you can with Jowan.

Morrigan was easy for me to sleep with. Leliana I had to work all game. Just be a subtle jerk right back to her, and she'll like you for it. Also, there are two or three gifts around the world that send Morrigan up about 15-20 points. Find the golden mirror in Orzammar and the grimoire in the mage tower and she'll go up a disposition or two.

Finally got the game, and a nice surprise, i didnt get the tinbox edition, i got it in a VERY cool wood box instead....im so happy i decided to buy over ebay instead of the Collectors Edition in europe, that come without the cloth map and cool box :)
GREAT game, having a LOT of fun so far.

But do anyone have a full list of DLCs you can get (not preorder stuff, since you cant get that any more) ? So far i got the following:
Blood Dragon Armor (from CE)
Stone Keep (from CE)
CE items (from CE)
Wardens Keep (bought it)
The Lucky Stone (from making a char with the character editor and uploading it, still works, ALSO for PS3 and Xbox, just need to make the char on a PC. REALLY worth the 5 min it take to see the video you cant skip, and make a random char and upload, a +1 to all stats ring that you got on start is pretty decent)
Embri's Many Pockets (from dragonagejourneys.com)
Amulet Of the War Mage (from dragonagejourneys.com, i SHOULD have gotten it, but seems bugged, havent shown up yet)

Since I had not played this since it came out (and didn't play long the first time), I decided to give this another whirl. I created a ghetto city elf rogue.

I must say it gets more interesting as time goes by. I dig the dialogue, although I am not overly thrilled that it can't be cancelled (at least not on PS3).

After that village north of Morrigan's old home, I headed to Redcliffe and then was diverted to the Circle Tower to muster some mages to open a Fade portal to save some mincy possessed brat and his mother, who has a not-so-great Isabella Rossalini impression.

Still at tower and running through the most boring yet quite difficult (imo) puzzle thing while under the enchantment of the sloth demon. May need to lower difficulty here as I keep getting fried by mages and pretty much out of health pots/bandages/etc.

I keep loading Morrigan up with gifts hoping she does anal.

It is definately engaging so far, despite my complaints. I like the voice acting and the humor quite a bit. I am not very deep in the game, but I can certainly see potential! Now If I can only focus on this and leave AC2 in the wrapper until I am done! Well, and avoid buying ME2 as well....and not get Fallout3 back from my brother.... oy..

Been playing it on and off when i have time, and really enjoying it...the story rocks, and the subtle humor is just brilliant....i had to visit ALL the possible combinations in The Pearl to hear all the dialogue :).

And as for Morrigan, i didnt really like her at the start, she REALLY dont take to me, and had put her on a back burner, switching to myself (tank), Wynne (healing), Alistair/Dog/Shale (dps), and Leilana for ranged attacks.
But now i found out HOW nasty Morrigan is.

If youre on PC, its a lot easier since you can zoom out, but letting Wynne and Leilani hold back to do heal/DPS, charge in with tank and taunt, then let Morrigan cast Inferno at the tanks location, and eventually cast a Force Field on tank to stop him taking damage, then walk in and brush the ashes of your loot after.

If youre inside, its even easier. Same char placement, open a door, if mobs rush at you, put tank in door, and throw Inferno just inside the room....if they dont, save and go in to see where mobs are, load save from before you entered, zoom all the way out (PC only, muahahaah), and cast Inferno at those areas, as long as you have opened the door, you can cast even if walls are in the way.

I took out a VERY VERY nast room in Denerim in some Blood mage quest with 3 blood mages and 3+ random chars just by opening door, closing it again and nuking the room :)

I recommended the Mage quest first. Wynne is a better healer than Morrigan, at least the way I played, and having her along helps.

I really pumped Morrigans Magic-stat and Wynnes Willpower/Manapoint stat.

For me, Morri had the most dmg-spells while Wynne handles Heals and CC. (they both had CCs though).

Same setup i use, just not far enough to do the Storm of the Century :)
I then use my playing char as tank, and Leilani as ranged DPS´.

I had a similar party but some of the roles reversed.
I used Alistair as my tank, I played a archer, Wynne for heals, and morigann for nukes.
Taking the ranger spec was cool, because you could summon a bear, wolf, or spider for extra tanking and DPS.

On PS3 the square button zips through the dialogue.

Whoa, ranger spec? You mean that rangers survive in THIS game? :)
