I want to Vegas a few years back.
I had a OK time but I have no desire to ever go back.
Everything is just too excessive.

We were bought by <Evil Co> unfortunately. My only remaining shirt is a black "INS Security Services" polo and you can't have itlaneela wrote:Ha! Imigra! Imigra! How much would one of your company shirts cost me? I need me one of those. =P

Las Vegas is a shithole, cool for a convention weekend but beyond that, meh. Most of non-rural Nevada for that matter is just well... grubby.
I thought San Francisco was pretty cool until I'd live there a while, I don't think so anymore. Definitely not someplace to live if you've got kids unless you're planning to pay for private school. Still a cool place to visit even if you've lived there and despise it

Go to Las Vegas, it's worth checking out once. It's hella cheap too with the crappy economy right now.
Stay away from the East Coast. Maybe start your Vacation in Denver and then work your way West.
Stay clear of the Southeast as well. Perhaps Voronwe could defend Atlanta but he's not around anymore!
The Southwest is probably where you want to be most of the time.

That is the point of vegas. It's an adult playground. Women, gambling, booze, food, shopping... Party all night, sleep when you get home.miir wrote:I want to Vegas a few years back.

More like Vegas is turning into a Disney Land. I was there in July for a week. I saw so many families there. Granted most of those families were from other countries but still a lot of kids. I suppose if I had a lot of extra cash I'd enjoy Vegas a bit more.

If you search hard, you can still find some nickel slots deep in the casinos off the main Strip Bubba!Bubba Grizz wrote:I suppose if I had a lot of extra cash I'd enjoy Vegas a bit more.

Re: How far from?
I live about 15 minutes from downtown Seattle. Vancouver, BC is about 2-3 hours to the north and Portland, Oregon is about 2-3 hours to the south.
After that you have to drive really far to hit another Big City...
To the south: San Francisco is about 16 hours, Salt Lake City is about the same. Las Vegas is about 20 hours. Los Angeles is about 24 hours, Denver to the east is about the same.
To the east: You have to drive about 30 hours till you get to any really big city (Chicago, Minneapolis, etc.) At that point you're closer to New York than Seattle.
