Cops are regular people at the end of the day.
Some of them a good, some are bad.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm just pointing out another example of why it's a bad idea to automatically assume that a cop's account of events best represents the facts. They don't automatically deserve the benefit of the doubt because they're every bit as capable of being lying scumbags as the rest of us that don't have arrest powers or the authorization to use force, or search you for fabricated "probable cause", etc.

A cop and Cletus Methmouth standing side by side, who's are representation of the facts are you more likely to believe?
Automatically get the benefit of the doubt in all cases, no. Most? Would depend on the parties involved.
Oh noes, profiling.

Yep, automatically being weary of cops because you wanna fight the power and speak out against the man is just as stupid (or moreso) than what has been pointed out in the few threads about it recently. I am by no means a cop lover, it's actually atypical of me to defend them at all, however in cases where I don't know either party personally and the shoe seems to fit, I'm gonna lean towards thinking there is at least some truth in what the cop is saying.Aabidano wrote:A cop and Cletus Methmouth standing side by side, who's are representation of the facts are you more likely to believe?

For the oppressed, peace is the absence of oppression, but for the oppressor, peace is the absence of resistance.
