Ok, that motion camera stuff looks sooooo cool. I'm giddy like a little school girl right now, lol. And Metal Gear coming to the xbox? Sony has got to be scared.

Sony and Nintendo have got to be worried right about now...

If Project Natal really pans out, Microsoft will be printing money...

That was one of the coolest innovations I've seen in video games forever. Sony and Nintendo are going to have to do pretty good to top that, and I say that even though the games part of their conference was kinda weak.

I'm kind of speechless...

I don't really know what I was expecting, but that was fucking amazing stuff. It started out weak, but really gained momentum. The instant 1080p was a big surprise to me. The Facebook and Twitter integration was an awesome surprise.

There was just so much that my mind is still trying to digest what I just saw.

I'm not sure what can top that, but I look forward to Sony and Nintendo's announcements later this week.

The Ubi thing just wrapped up.

There's a LOT of Wii exclusives there. (too much imo) Splinter Cell Conviction looks great and Assassin's Creed 2 is absolute sex.

I dunno about that...
I can't help but be skeptical about it's accuracy... also, I like to sit on my ass when playing most videogames.

Only certain types of games (sports and karaoke games coem to mind) would transition well from a handheld HID to motion sensing control. I couldn't imagine playing a shooter/action type game or RPG with motion sensing input.

I played Punch Out on the Wii using the wii-mote, nunchuck and balance board.
I sucked at it and it wasn't much fun at all... it was more like a heavy cardio workout in front of the TV.
If you're looking to make your cardio more entertaining, you could do a lot worse. But if you're just looking some fun entertainment, you're better off playing it with the Wii D-Pad

I would say the numbers the Wii has been putting up prove that while I might agree with you a bit on wanting to be lazy when I play, lots of people like the cardio type games lately.

However it doesn't just stop there, not only voice recognition but recognition of emotion in your voice too, is awesome and could be used in a lot of innovative ways. The motion could be used in a lot of ways besides controlling your body for a game, too. I am even happy about the idea of being able to navigate all the menus, etc with motion controls.

I don't know how the shopping thing worked, but the part of the demo where they showed the girl dropping a picture of a dress onto her picture on screen was pretty cool.

Of course like you said, this could all end up being not as accurate and flexible as they are making it seem, but considering all the names they have behind them already for development I think there is at least some truth behind it. I guess we'll see, I hope the release of it isn't too far off.

Microsoft does this type of Tech Demo peice all the time as events like Comdex and other arenas. The only team to deliver on these things consistantly have been the Xbox team.

That being said, I have a feeling that this will be in development for the next year or 18 months before it's ready and will launch for holiday 2010.

Apparently the dev kits have been shipped to devs though so we'll see.

Been a total snoozefest for me. The new Mario game looks identical to the one on the Super NES. It's funny, cause everyone from the staff on G4 is slamming Nintendo too.

There literally has barely been any applause since Nintendo started, it's ghostly quiet.

So far, Nintendo is doing much better than last year. But last years was the worst I have ever seen.

The Mario brothers looks like fun.

New versions of all thier old stuff? New DS, new balance board, new Wii sports. Peripherals for the peripherals. Jesus. These people repurchase the same stuff over and over just like Star Wars junkies.

Golden Sun looks good.

I don't do handheld gaming, so I'm just trying to express what I think looks like it would be fun. All the Wii games looked just like all the old Wii games. I can't believe it takes them a year+ to put those things out.

I want to see the Silent Hill and Dead Space exclusive games. Show me some 3rd party games that are worth a damn! Wow me with something Nintendo!

Metroid was by far the highlight for me.

I counted 3 or 4 Mario games and a Zelda title for the DS as well. They hit thier 3 big franchises, so I guess the Nintendo fanbase is getting some good things this year.

It was pretty meh overall. I hope Sony brings the thunder.

I'm not a huge console fan. We have a PS3 and a handful of games for it. When I want to play a video game, I just want to sit on my ass, and I'm only interested in giving my thumbs a workout. Having said that, the Natal demo looked bad ass. I still don't care about it for video game interaction, and I certainly wouldn't add a 360 to the house just for this. I'd love that type of interface for my PC, though!

Also, the Star Wars: The Old Republic trailer was impressive. Other than the upcoming World Of Darkness game, SW:TOR might be the first new MMO that grabs my interest, whenever it's finally released.

Uncharted 2 will be bad ass. The first game is one of the best games I've played in a long time, and trust me it is nothing like Resident Evil. There's more platforming to it, and the controls aren't cumbersome as shit.

MAG looks so awesome too.

Sony definitely doing better than Nintendo so far, not that it was a difficult task.

It's funny they have the nerve to talk about a Gran Turismo game for the PSP.. They don't think we forgot about the GT that had a 40 dollar demo several years ago, has been in development for who knows how long and is pretty much vaporware at this point, do they?

It was released just a little more than a year ago.
GT5 Prologue was actually a pretty slick deal... There was more content than a lot of full price racing games.
It was one of the games I was most looking forward to playing when I got my PS3.

I think the strength of Microsoft's keynotes is that they are focused 100% on the 360. Nintendo and Sony have too many distractions.

This is just a snooze fest at this point. I want to see more MAG!

Which is all fine, but it was a demo. Every iteration of the GT games have been the same cars, tracks, modes, etc with updated graphics and maybe controls, so why a year later is it still not out? You don't think that's a bit ridiculous?

I'm trying to figure out what happened to these 30 exclusives they talked about, all I see them demoing is games for the PS3 that are cross platform (besides MAG and Uncharted). And the details of those two exceptions have been known for a while.

To be fair though, there is a lot of possibility to what Sony is making here. The tracking will probably be much more precise in many different lighting conditions. As well, having a button on the wand would also be handy.

Odds are that these will probably hit the market before Natal. Time will tell however. The race is on.

I was looking for the 30 exclusives as well Funk. They had to have been including PSP and PS2 as well to come up with that figure.

The FF MMO doesn't move me at all, so I don't care about that. ANyone else have thoughts or feelings on that?

The controller thing is very Wii, but it will be interesting to see what real gaming companies do with the technology instead of the pussies at Nintendo who just want you to pet kittens and pop balloons all fucking night.

A pretty mute showing by Sony, but still better than last years IMO. It didn't help that some of thier stuff was leaked. TBH, I wouldn't have given a shit about the PSP anyway though. Repackaging the same shit over and over is Nintendo's game. Give me new or go home!

MS wins by a pretty large margin for 2 years in a row.

I think MS and Sony are on equal footing in term of presentation quality as far as appeal for yours truly.

Sony should've had GT5 playable there instead of another CGI trailer. Last Guardian looks interesting. That God of War demo was that show's saving grace. MAG looks extremely promising.

The fucking montages annoyed the shit out of me.

The PSP Go stuff was mostly killed by the beyond stupid price point. 169$ at the most.

Final Fantasy 7 on the PSN tonight was sweet news.

That about sums it up for me.

The FF MMO might be ok, I'll probably give it a shot. But I'd be willing to bet that before it's release it will end up on the 360 as well, try as Sony might MS is just willing to throw far more money behind getting exclusives (and stopping Sony from having them).

I agree about the controller, it might be ok if the developers make some solid games using it as opposed to minigame collections, but I won't keep my hopes up on that either. It just isn't the leap in technology they needed, and is pretty much dwarfed by Natal before it's even released.

MS whooped serious ass this year.. To be honest I was expecting something more from either Sony or Nintendo or both.

Who cares who "whipped ass". A lot of people don't even care about E3. The real proof will be the sales figures for the next 12 months on all the stuff that was announced and actually comes out.

Just not the case. Sales do not equal the best. That's like saying that because someone wins American Idol and sells a ton of records means that they are better than a less known/less popular band.

The sales don't mean a damn thing to me, what does it what is the superior product, and as far as consoles go I think it's pretty clear to me that the 360 comes out on top here.

The Second Annual E3 Hype Massacre
People play games to unwind and no one unwinds by coming home and waving their arms about like an air traffic controller covered in beetles.
