I first saw the trailer while looking through apple.com. What really grabbed my attention for this upcoming film was the masssive amount of quality viral advertising for it, specifically in the form of four websites that play into the continuity.
http://www.d-9.com/ <--- It begins with the trailer, then leads into a MNU newsfeed thing from one perspective or the other.
http://multinationalunited.com/ <--- the MNU website
http://mnuspreadslies.com/index.php?page=1 <--- a blog done by someone who is not really like you at all (consequently, this is what really hooked me).
http://mathsfromouterspace.com/ <--- a MNU child's apptitude test site.
I have to admit, even though I just found this flick today, it is the movie I am most looking forward to this summer.

Re: District 9
It seems like a different take on the ideas behind Alien Nation, which is not a bad thing. I'll be keeping an eye out for this one.
