The first half of this season was worthless, and while having tim kring back in charge of the writing gave me hope I'm not sure after tonight's episode.

Knowing Nathan and Claires dad characters and how they have been throughout the first few seasons, I dont't feel they would do what they were doing in tonight's episode

Frankly I'm sick of the constant changes in focus on the plot and their complete inability to decide what direction they want to go in with ali Larters character and Sylar.

Plus side is I hear Claire is trying to get out of her contract because she (being the newest hollywood coke slut I always knew she'd become) doesnt think she gets enough screen time.

I haven't completely lost faith that they can bring this show back from the dead yet, but I'm definitely weary. We'll see I guess.

I liked it.

Though I don't like Hiro not having powers. I guess he might become the Tony Stark of this series.

He'll find a way to get his powers back. I liked the newest episode a lot. Looks like they're finally going to become the X-Men. Ali Larter's character (Nikki #2) should just disappear. Introducing her as a twin was one of the low points of the series IMO.

Bit confused about a bunch of stuff here...

First, I read a few articles (here's one) about how they are basically "rebooting" the series, and you wouldn't need any past info from previous seasons. Actually, rereading that article confused me even more: I was under the impression that this was still season 3, just the second half, and not season 4, but the article seems to indicate season 4 began on the 2nd. Episode guides/wiki's list the episode as season 3 episode 14, so I wonder when the reboot is (or if it did) happening, so I have no idea what season it actually is.

If they did reboot it, then they were completely wrong about not needing past info (sure you could watch it, but it wasn't like a series from scratch), and if it is still coming, why do I care about the final episodes of this season (and the reboot would imply that they aren't very good).

My complaint about the episode was that none of the characters seemed to care about what other characters did in the first half. Like Peter accepting a Taxi ride from Suresh? If I recall, a few episodes ago, Suresh tried to inject Peter with an experimental serum that killed the test subjects, and then there was the fight at Pinehurst in the last episode.

Other than that, the episode was OK. I think it is good that they seemed to eliminate the powers that were either way too strong (Mr. Petrelli took them all then died, minus Sylar), or really screwed up the plot (time travel). Hopefully they stick with this, but find some way to give Hiro a super power.

I agree that they need to cut Ali Larters character. I have watched every single episode, many twice, and I still call her Nicki and can't remember her current characters name. I was really hoping she was going to be sucked out of the plane/die, but the previews from next week seem to indicate otherwise =(. I also really hate the extreme concentration on Claire's daddy issues. Her character was a ton better in season 1 and season 2 (yes season 2, even with the douche flying guy who disappeared part).

It's still season 3, they just separate each season into two parts.

Ali Larter as well as Claire are both trying to get out of their contracts. Larter is stating it's because they keep changing her character and she is upset about it. I can't blame her for that to be honest. Claire, like I stated before, is stating she doesn't get enough screen time, cause she is obviously the star of the show (rofl).

They should just replace them both with 2 younger actresses who also can't act their way out of a paper bag. I can't decide if I hate Hayden Panettiere's s3 character, or Elish Cuthberts s1 24 character more.

I vote they settle this debate with some mud wrestling. just sayin ...

Anyone notice the blatant Fallout 3 commercial in the previous episode?

I'm still sad they killed off Elle. :(

I wish they would get the show back on track. It feels like they are throwing darts at random plot points instead of developing a cohesive story arc. Well, I'll give them a couple more episodes before I start complaining...or I guess I just did...

And yeah, the daddy issues were touching the first season, but at this point its getting on my nerves like Claire from Lost crying about "my baybay" for 3 seasons.

Talking about whining, Michael was the biggest whiner both on and off the set. Every time they did a story arc with him, he'd be in TV guide or Entertainment Weekly, bitching about what they were doing to his character. I laughed with Jack's Dad showed up on the boat and said, "Goodbye Michael," right before blowing him sky high. Good riddance.

What bugs me is if you're just going to bring a character back... Stop fucking killing them off in the first place. Basically anytime now a character dies I'm like "Oh well they'll probably be back in a few episodes" so there's real no emotional tie or sense of loss. And how many times has Sylar been dead now? Sure the hell has been a lot. And really how would he have survived the fire at the end of Volume 3 unless someone pulled him out. The guy had like.. A big shard of glass in the back of his neck if I remember correctly.

Secondly... Stop introducing a 'prophet' who draws the future into the show. I was glad when Isaac was killed off. And again when the guy in Africa was. Was there another as well before that? I can't recall. And now it's Parkman. Yeah how did that magically appear as one of his abilities? It's just a lame plot device (aka crutch) that's really lost its usefulness.

Claire and Niki/Jessica/Tracy (I mean seriously.. I person has been 3 different characters now don't you think that's a bit excessive?) I got tired of long ago so not much to say other than that.

Speaking of Claire.. Yeah she can escape from the car and run over to the plane, which Nathan appeared to be watching, with not a single person noticing. Helloooo? Yeah it's been said before: It's just a TV show. But at least try and not be totally ridiculous with the storyline. It's getting harder and harder to 'suspend disbelief' when there are huge gaping plot holes all over the place.

Anyway my current volume rating would be 1,3,2. With Volume 3 just barely beating Volume 2 and that's mostly because the writer's strike cut V2 short. Volume 1 , for all the annoying aspects it had, is like twice as much better (/waits for the grammar police) as anything that has come since.

Reminds me of Alias. Did anyone ACTUALLY die during that series?

(Just trying to mix a few more shows into this thread :P)

The best was when they brought back that DL character only to kill him off (again) in the same bloody episode.

I actually liked this episode. I just hope Hiro get some sort of powers back soon.
And does anyone remember what happened to that cute black girl with mimic powers? I can't remember if she died, or just dissapeared out of the show.

Pretty sure they cut her after season 2 since they cut the Nikki's son (and technically Nikki). I think she survived, though.

Wow I totally forgot about her. It took me a few minutes to recall wtf you were talking about. So, I guess add that one to the list. Introducing characters that just kind of fall off the face of the earth.

He totally shouldn't have forgot about her, she was hot!

However, they explained that saying that after the writers strike they thought a few parts of the story just needed to be let go in order for them to move on, and apparently she was one of them. However, even after dropping a lot of the side stories to focus on getting the show back on track, they still failed.. So um.. I guess they should have just kept the Irish chick.

Hopefully nick doesn't read this, it would be tragic for him to see me writing positive things about his people.

I can only guess that they're experiencing some serious budget cuts for this show. Claire's makeup looks like it was done by some 3yr old girl with crayons. I mean, seriously, seriously bad. Then at the end of the show her lipstick is a different color completely and the make-up is better. Maybe her MU artist was hung over and finally woke up..

Then, if you watch the sequence with Parkman and the dead African guy, the dead guy has his staff across his shoulders in ever front angle, and is leaning on it standing up in every other angle. I mean, it switches back and forth like 10 times.. nobody could friggin' catch that? When's the last 'special effect' we saw? The little sparkle in Hiro's bitches hand? Ooo.. computer generated airplane crunching. And why was Peter so concerned about getting sucked out of the airplane? I mean, the dude can fly.. hello? And now apparently he has to actually touch someone to get their powers.. I could be wrong, but I don't think it was always like that. Did he actually touch Claire in s1 before he 'died'? I don't think so.

Anyway, episodes sit for multiple weeks on the dvr before I get to them.. I really don't get much enjoyment from this show anymore.

(btw: The mimic girl was great, bring her back! Oh, and Mica has been seen since schizo ice-woman arrived)

In regard to the Peter thing. He has to touch someone to get their ability now, and he can only keep one power at a time. So he couldn't fly because he had the ice ability that he crashed the plane with, then I would assume he just got super strong after Mohinder tried to save him.

Stupid? Yes! I just figured I would explain it to you like I understood it.

Peters powers now are different than they were in season 1 and 2. His father sucked the powers out of him in season 3, and he used the formula to get some power back, and save Nathan in the season finale. Apparently the power he got was to copy one power at a time through contact with someone else.

Yeah but I thought he had to touch them, not just be near them. For example, he made a lot of effort to touch Suresh on the plane to get his power. He got Nikki's power when he touched her. Did he touch Nathan in that scene? I don't remember.

And where was the research on Arkansas? I went to band camp in Russellville and my sister went to college there. The terrain was totally wrong and did they HAVE to do the trailer/redneck shirt thing? C'mon....

That it does. Actually, you're about to get a phone call as a potential new Vol. 5 writer, they want to take the Heroes back to Ancient Greece where Ben Linus is king of the gods. This will, of course, be an improvement over the current Heroes storyline.

Yes, they did.

I'm mostly watching this show still out of habit. It's just gotten ridiculously bad.

Damn. I hope they give Hiro powers soon. He's kind of annoying in a sad way without. I'm liking the Sylar character more and more though.

For those that gave up on this show, y'all missed a fantastic episode on Monday. I have hope now that it will regain some greatness from here.

I think you should all focus on every flaw this show has, and stop watching it entirely so that it gets canceled and a time slot is freed up for more reality television, or a CSI or Grey's Anatomy spinoff...

I like where the show seems to be heading. I am not sure that it is an actual spoiler but.....
[Show]
They seem to finally be moving the series in a more "team" oriented direction. This should help maximize the focus on fewer storylines, since they won't have to go through 10+ in one hour a week. I seem to remember this being one of the big gripes people had about the show in the first season too.

I thought the whole marriage plot in India was retarded.

I like the idea of an evil sidekick for Syler, but it feels like a day late and a dollar short, amirite?

Clair-Bear's new BF... I seriously LOL'd when he said what his power was. I guess now we know at some point in the season we'll have an

I can see the hilarity. Claire and Aquaboy get caught. They waterboard him, he laughs.

Yea, until they decide to totally re-write the show at the beginning of next season.

I really liked this show but there is no coherency in the writing from season to season.. or when they decide to shift gears mid-season and start calling it a 'new' season.

The show hasn't been picked up for another season yet, and to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't.

I just think that too many people that watched the show are either still watching it with hopes it will become what it was in the first season, or they have got sick of it and moved on. The show could have been great without 1.5 seasons of it being a joke, but it's a little too late to repair the damage now, imo.

I guess we'll see.
