Pineapple Express

Post by Funkmasterr »

I'm surprised there hasn't been any talk about this movie yet, it's hilarious! It is a mix of comedy and action, although the action parts aren't totally serious, either.

It probably helped a little that we got high as hell right before we saw the movie, but this was the funniest movie I've seen in a long, long time - definitely worth seeing in the theater!

It looks decent, but I would never see this in the theater just because of the clientele it would attract.

If I recall correctly, it's rated R - so you shouldn't have much to worry about as far as the annoying teenager factor goes, I didn't have any issues :)

Do most theaters even enforce that anymore? I remember going to several movies that were rated R as a teen. I also don't think he was referring to teens.

wife and I really enjoyed it.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

Ok, what's with all the gay humor?... This movie was as much about man love as it was about pot.

There were some parts that were absolutely hysterical, and some that made me a little uncomfortable.

Yeah there were a few parts where the gay humor was getting to be a bit much, but at least there wasn't man cock everywhere like Forgetting Sarah Marshall!

Seriously? Have you not seen any of his other movies? They're chock full of gay humor.

I don't think I have seen his other stuff... I didn't know anything about this movie until a couple hours before I went (with Mid, who was not entertained.)

Somehow this movie made being a process server seem cool.

 I know, it's cause he's a pothead.

Why the fuck did your brother even go to see a comedy about weed, I wouldn't think he'd even bother!

I enjoyed the first two thirds of the film a lot...and moments of the rest. The writers definitely know stoners...James Franco's character was a mirror image of a atleast a half a dozen "friends" I knew in high school and college. Sadly, he was a lot cooler than most of them...

It had a few funny moments, but the movie was just not very good. The "stoner" genre has pretty much played out. I think Seth Rogan is great though.

Seth Rogan plays the same old shitty character every single time he's in front of a camera. "Laid back comfortable with himself fat stupidly self depricating Jewish manchild". (See Family Guy "I'm rooting for you" sketch)

This film, obviously, is no exception. It's, as has been said before, Stoner idiocy at its prime. Not without its charm, but ultimately not really worth the watch unless you're bored enough to remind yourself how much of an idiot you were when you TOTALLY LOVED SMOKING POT MAN.
