Rangers - Don't snare kite

No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

Rangers - Don't snare kite

Post by Soriathus Serpentine »

Ok, I'm expecting a huge reply from Aranuil on this one... :-D

I've been in Velks the last couple of days and have been my first few visits ever to this dungeon. There's this ranger who says "Hi, could I group with you, this is the first time I haven't played in like 6 monhts". Sounds like an ebay special to me. He's an absolute moron because he snare kites in Velks. First off, snake kiting as a Ranger?!? Second off, Velks just isn't the kind of dungeon that you wanna kite in, especially when there are 25+ people in the zone and you most likey are gonna trian people every 2 minutes.

Seconded.

Velks is full of tools 90% of the time. If you can carve out a niche location or move past the spider groups into the more remote areas of the dungeon, you can do reasonably well, but the idiots that are near the entrance make it a horrible place most of the time.

The best times I ever had there were with Sartori and Kyoukan when Velious first came out, before anyone knew about the zone, or with Cshae, Larain, and Roxburry when we were well past the pit groups crawling through the rear spider maze for hours at a time.

It's true! I ended up grouped with a cleric from Ixtlan pulling everything I could possibly pull. Funny thing is, it was the same way with Kelgar. You always knew he was about to ding because he'd go crazy with Ransure-sized (tm) pulls, grabbing everything in the zone.

Looks like my friends will get to see that again soon. ;)

Those of you just saying fuck rangers that snare kite - go to hell. 106 of my 182 AA points have been made via the snare kite.

Those of you just saying fuck rangers that snare kite in Velks - I agree.. Anyone who thinks that *if* you can even snare kite there is crazy, or *if* the xp is even sufficient.

Rangers that are GOOD at snare kiting are people that you never have to worry about getting you killed. Rangers that don't know the first thing about it... well, they need help, and you probably shouldn't be in the same area. :).

Snare Kiting in Velks...Sounds like that Ranjor has been hitting the crack pipe too much in those last hours before logging in.

What kind of an idiot actually kites Velks mobs, u can fart directly at them and they like...die.

And yeah, Velks without morons is like I dunno...Searyx without birth defects or something like that.

I remember! :) We PLed him on trash from BW during an Ixtblat thing :) However, the majority of his 59 was spent in Velks..where we stayed in the middle or left corner, taking out spiders..

I believe the Velks runs comprised of:

Me
Aranuil
Lorilea
Blumgan
Abash
Anuin

At least as far as I can remember...

Good times, had by all
