Egg McMuffin Machine

Post by Sylvus »

A couple of my friends bought me the Back to Basics Egg and Muffin Toaster for my birthday, and it works pretty well. It has the ability to poach a single egg or hard boil 4 eggs, has a spot for heating up your meat (tee hee) and toaster slots for bread or english muffins. You just put in all the things into the spots they belong, press a button, and you're showing that no-good Ronald McDonald who is boss in no time.

As a fan of breakfast sandwiches, I have to say that this works pretty well, is pretty quick (less than 5 minutes), and it's easy to use and clean. I'd recommend it if you're into that sort of thing.

Dude!

That thing rocks! I may ask for one to replace our generic toaster for Father's Day!

I'd order one now, but it's nice to have this in my pocket for the next time someone says "Anything you'd like for <some holiday>?"

Also, wife loves boiled eggs. Werd!

I'm told there's another model that can do 2 poached eggs at a time, and has slots for 4 pieces of bread, but it was out of stock at the store they bought it at with my birthday fast approaching. If you've got a wife and kid(s), you may want to opt for the bigger model.

It's listed lower on the page you linked. That model is too big for where I'd want to put it (where our toaster is), but I could see the need when it takes 5 mins to cook a single sandwich (I like two!). Especially with a family. I'll discuss with the Mrs.

EDIT: 2 egg version at Circuit City for like $52

An egg mcmuffin w/o cheese sounds fantastic! If there is a sausage egg biscuit and hashbrown maker, I am sold!

I was given the exact item you link for christmas a few years ago. I love it (when I actually decide to eat breakfast).

The one or two egg version? That's my only decision here. It's as good as purchased otherwise.

I have the one egg. I think the two egg would be pretty neat. Cause whenever I make an egg sammich now... Sylvos is right there wanting it. Or wanting to take a monster bite from it.

If it poured Jack Daniels also, Sylvos would never leave the kitchen. :D

I got one and it is fantastic. There is a strange plastic smell when it is in use, but I think that is just because it is new. Easy to use, easy to clean. I hope it holds up to repeated usage.

My housemate has one of these, and I hate the unholy beast. I don't trust it, the way it cooks those eggs. I just don't trust it.
