What 360 Game to buy?
I bought Fallout 3 last week, and it looks like there are still a bunch of good games out or coming out in the very near future. What's going to be the most fun? I was thinking about Gears of War 2, but I'm also leaning toward Left 4 Dead. As I'm buying a house in a couple weeks I can't justify buying more than one game right now. Which one would you guys get?

I have been torn between them too. I plan on renting each before picking one to buy. My choice is focused on the multi-player, and both seem to be bringing some cool stuff into the mix based on the podcasts I have been watching over the last few weeks.

Any particularly cool stuff that stands out that you've heard about? Other than being vaguely aware that each has been or soon will be released, I haven't had a chance to see much gameplay footage or anything, and unfortunately I won't be able to do that from work today.

I think there is a Left 4 Dead thread already which discusses the single player. I honestly didn't feel like doing more than renting it until seeing that you could play AS the monsters in multiplayer though. It just seemed like a more advanced version of the Resident Evil franchise to me. The matchmaking in GoW2 is supposed to be vastly improved, with more coop options.

I'm really looking forward to Banjoe-Kazooie 3. I played the demo and really enjoyed it. It's gonna be priced at 39$ to boot. And if you pre-order, you get the original Banjoe-Kazooie for free..
I heard Fable 2 was great fun. Spidernam - Web of shadows is supposedly decent but a renter.
The Mirror's Edge demo has me really curious about the game.
I just got Gears 2 this morning and I'm really looking forward to going home and playing that one.

If given the choice, I would get Left 4 Dead. Now, the reason isn't only because I'm obsessed with killing zombies! I think everyone and their grandmother will have Gears 2 and therefore you'll be able to pick up a copy either on sale or used at a good price in a short amount of time. Left 4 Dead has some pretty unique elements in the multiplayer. I think the replayability is going to be solid.
Personally, I haven't even beaten Gears 1 yet so I can't really justify picking up the sequel until I do that. Who knows, I may get caught up in the hype and get it this weekend if I see it though
We also have Call of Duty: World at War, and C&C Red Alert 3 coming out on Nov 11th. Left 4 Dead isn't until he 17th. If you bought and played Gears now, you could likely beat it before Left 4 Dead even hits the shelves.

Meh, I've decided to DL Red Alert 3 off the Interweb for my PC and buy GoW2 this weekend
Sylvus, are you going to get Left 4 Dead for PC or 360?

I really enjoyed Banjo-Kazooie demo as well. Rare does a great job with interesting platformers.Animalor wrote:I'm really looking forward to Banjoe-Kazooie 3. I played the demo and really enjoyed it. Mirrors's Edge seemed kinda meh to me. Seemed like a first person princess of persia but didn't seem to translate well to me.
I have been doing the CoD: World at War multiplayer beta for the last couple weeks and it is a ton of fun.

I was thinking 360, unless there's a compelling reason to go with PC.Fairweather Pure wrote:Meh, I've decided to DL Red Alert 3 off the Interweb for my PC and buy GoW2 this weekend

I'm salivating over CoD5. Ive been playing the multiplayer the last couple of days and loving it.. Releasing the dogs instead of a chopper is pretty cool too..
I'll be getting Left 4 Dead when it comes out.. As long as I can afford it!

Re: What 360 Game to buy?
I have seriously disliked the CoD5 multiplayer. I love CoD4 and play the shit out of it still on multi and fairly good at it...but CoD5 is mostly a sniperfest where people hang out in every nook and cranny like they lose MS points if they move. I am sure I will end up buying it, but much like Rainbow 6 II, it will probably be gone real fast and back to CoD 4.

Did you see the video for the "secret" co-op level after you beat CoD5?

Re: What 360 Game to buy?
Mods is really the only reason I can think of. I hear that the PC versions get patches quicker to fix imbalances and such too. It's not enough to make me want to get the PC version, but those are some of the reasons I've read from others.Sylvus wrote:I was thinking 360, unless there's a compelling reason to go with PC.

Ive been playing it for about, 3 days straight and honestly, i really haven't noticed much of a snipe fest.. theres one board which name escapes me thats a bit of a snipe fest but i still manage to tear it up and finish in first or second on every board.
If you're referring to the zombie co-op (because i didnt check the link), fuck yes I saw that and I can't fucking wait! it looked awesome. I think im gonna have to skip buying gears until I have enough money to buy it after CoD5 because, eventhough its WW2 again, it's still really good.Sabek wrote:Did you see the video for the "secret" co-op level after you beat CoD5?
