Also, there are only a few Big Ten fans on the board. It's not an automatic refuge every time the Pac Ten gets stomped. I certainly don't give a shit about the Big Ten.

I like how you ignore that I've said several times that I wasn't sure how good ASU would be this year. How about you scroll your ass back to the beginning of this thread and re-read it before you jump on your usual "assume" bandwagon.

The Pac-10 sucks, too. It doesn't matter if USC is ranked #1. One team does not make an entire conference good. The Pac-10 sucks!

Looking at USC's remaining schedule, they should easily roll through to the championship game, and then lose to the SEC champs.

Well no good teams at all definitely doesn't make a conference good.

SEC is the best conference overall this year. Pac 10 will win another National Title. Take a look at college conferences in all sports. The Pac Ten dominates. That they can roll out USC every year and contend for the National Championship in football each year is just a slap in your eastern conference faces. There's no denying East and Southern fans, where there's nothing else to do on Saturdays except go to football games, are more geeked about college football. The Bulldog is cooler than some dude dressed in a devil outfit. I get that. The Trojan marching band song must drive you crazy though.

The Pac Ten can handle its rival conference in the Big Ten (11). There's a long Rose Bowl history between the two.

OhioSU:
pretender, highly overrated every year
high school stickers on helmets
dumb team name

Georgia:
looked good vs ASU, would get crushed by USC
Bulldog beats out the guy on the horse

USC:
real deal, ask any college coach on earth
marching band owns your marching band
cheerleaders so hot they have to call them song leaders

It's a down year for the Pac 10. The only hope I have is that ASU can squeak out a bowl invite against a Big Ten (11) team.

Pat Forde wrote:Crummy Conference Of The Week
The Pacific-10 (31). Every team but You Know Who has lost at least once. Every team but You Know Who is unranked. Six Pac-10 teams have lost to a non-BCS team. Two Pac-10 coaches rank among the leading candidates nationally to be fired (Washington's Ty Willingham and Arizona's Mike Stoops). One conference (the Mountain West) is openly laughing at the Pac-10. No conference has more consistent officiating issues.

There are a couple of nonconference credibility games left to come this week in the Pac-10: UCLA hosts Fresno State and California hosts Colorado State. But home field hasn't meant much to a league that is 8-5 in nonconference home games.

I think it's crazy that there are 6 non-BCS schools in the top 25 right now.

And I think this is a hilarious parody of Pat Forde.

That was a fun game to watch! I am a Razorbacks fan, but obviously know many Beav and Duck fans since I live up here now. Riley had a good game plan and the brothers Rodgers had a field day. Jaquizz impressed me and I am sure about another million or so people with his talent. Running up the gut like that with a 5'6 freshman....wow...

The Beavs D was full of energy and swarmed the ball. They may not win a ton of games this season, but they sure stepped up and kicked USC in the nuts tonight. Great start to the weekend! I am really looking forward to the Georgia v Bama game. :)

No. It means OhioSU is really really really bad.

All Pac 10 teams come to play against their own conference. Gotta love that competitive spirit! USC knew the Pac 10 was taking some heat this year so they sacrificed one to help out the conference. They can do that and still be in the BCS picture. OhioSU can't now that they were blown out by a team that lost to OSU.

I have a feeling that the OSU that beat USC can totally beat the OSU that can't beat USC.

PAC-10 still is diminished this year.

Here comes the same old Winnow PAC-10 argument.

"Teh PAC-10z is getz up so muchs for tehir own gamez."

Everyone crowned USC national champions after they stomped OSU, and they did stomp OSU, but they forgot the season is 12 games long not just 1.

That PSU team looks really strong. OSU seemed to get things back on track with Beanie in the game and Pryor getting some more experience.
If OSU beats Wisconsin next week it sets up a huge game against PSU later in the year.

The PSU game was sweet to watch, that's for sure. But it was weird, the announcing seemed to be Illinois biased, but I guess that makes sense when there was like already 5 or 6 huge upsets that day, they wanted another.

With that said, I think that Illinois team will be playing spoiler to anyone left on their schedule who was hoping for good things.

I'm pretty much in shock that Alabama is doing as well as they are so far. Being my 2nd favorite team, that's a bright spot as NU continues to struggle.

Anyone notice that Auburn fired Tony Franklin, their brand new OC, yesterday? Their offense has been abysmal this year as they tried to convert to a spread offense, but firing the OC midway through the regular season seems a little desperate on Tuberville's part.

Yeah, this is the same thing that happened last year (although later in the season). Almost all of the teams that are/were highly ranked played each other within a week or two. :?

Here's to hoping that the UT defense can stand up to OU this weekend! I would also like to see McCoy lay out a Sooner LB or two :P

As for ASU, they have Jack Elway waiting in the wings. Look for four years of dominance 2009-2012.

read the title of the thread duder. im sure youll find a way to turn Cardinal's success into an instance of Pac-10 dominance though.

Of course I'm elated and still recovering from the badass Longhorns win. But I am a little concerned about them already being #1. They are and always were the masters of their own destiny. Anyone could tell you that if they made it through that schedule unbeaten they'd be in the big dance. I like the idea of them flying under the radar though.

We've got a tough road ahead of us though. Next week is Mizzou, who were #3 before falling to OKie State (now they're like #12). Thankfully that's at home. Then we got Okie State, which I thought was gpoing to be an easy game until this weekend. They're ranked like #7 now. Then Texas Tech, who I think is rated #8, could be higher. Then it cools off, with Kansas and A&M. If we make it through these next three weeks, I think we're a shoe in (knock on wood).

Remainder of the Texas Schedule (which is also why I would have preferred they NOT move into #1 yet)

Just using AP poll for simplicity:

Mizzou - 11
Oklahoma St - 8
@ Texas Tech - 7
Baylor
@ Kansas -16
Texas A&M

Each of those 4 (currently) ranked teams can be tough. If the UT secondary can hold up through Mizzou, I think that they should be fine the rest of the way through the season.

I'm most worried about Tech. Though I like Mizzou (my brother's an alum, so I kinda root for them), I feel they've been overrated for quite awhile, extending into last year. The Big 12 North is easy street compared to the south. I think with our history of dominance over Tech, they will be a lot hungrier. Plus it's an away game. And Lubbock smells.

I think our D line is going to fuck Chase Daniels up.

Looking at USC's remaining schedule, they should easily roll through to the championship game, and then lose to the SEC champs.
This is also known as the Ohio State Theory. They have mastered this technique which was a modified version of the Big 12 concept adopted by Oklahoma. This theory was good for several years until Texas screwed it up and beat USC. This was the point where OSU realized it was a valid concept and took it over. I tappears Ohio State is trying it again this year as well.

Please Penn State spare us all the agony of another crappy Ohio State loss in the title game.

My confidence in my Longhorns is growing. Either the Big 12 is very overrated, or we're just fucking awesome. I like to think the second, but the undefeated teams we've beaten don't appear to have beaten any good teams. With Oklahoma St this week, we face a team that has beaten Mizzou and Kansas St. Obviously Mizzou has been exposed, though I think they are better than everyone now believes they are. FFS they were on the verge of being crowned a few weeks ago. Kansas St ... well ... meh.

My feelings are that we'll crush them. They are a run-based offense with a one-dimensional passing game. I heard the stat that their top receiver has 45 catches, their second, a paltry 11. Our D line has owned the run over and over. So the question is, will the Cowboys run their average like 200+ yards a game or will they average the Texas D's allowed 50ish rushing yards a game?

After having our way with OUs O-line that is made up all all NFL-bound fatties, I'm banking on the latter.

I support the Longhorns, but I am still unsure how the season will play out. I don't think the Oklahoma St game is a "gimme," but the Texas Tech game in Lubbock still feels like it will be a rough one. At least they "banned" the tortilla toss ;)

After posting this, I had to give the Supervisor "props" for how well her Aggies played this weekend (for the first time this season), and I remembered this from when I was growing up in Lubbock:
Into the Sunset (or Not)
According to legend, horse and rider were to be faced towards the west, placed on what was then known as “Soapsuds Pavilion East Memorial Circle.”

However, this placement resulted in the posterior of the horse pointing towards the center of town. This caused such an outcry from the townspeople that the entire statue was supposedly rotated 23 degrees to the east, aiming the horse’s rear toward Texas A&M.

“The rear of the horse does face A&M,” Snead said. “I don’t know if it was done on purpose or by accident. But as far as I’m concerned, it was done on purpose.”

Tyek, apparently God got the message to JoePa to win the game...although, it was a rough one to watch as a fan.

The good news, OSU won't be playing for a national championship...the bad news...PSU didn't win by enough for the BCS to do much for their cause to play in said game.

Part of me wants Texas, Bama, and Pennstate to go undefeated, that way the playoff system will be brought into light full force and possibly the stupid BCS will be done away with. The BCS killed college football for me.

The entertaining scenario that I'm rooting for:

Texas beats Texas Tech, takes out Missouri in the Big 12 Championship, and cruises into the title game as one of the strongest number 1 teams we've seen in a long time.

Penn State, rolling downhill, knocks off Iowa Indiana and Michigan State to finish the season undefeated.

Alabama beats LSU and faces a resurgent Florida, who's now knocked off Georgia, in the SEC title game. Florida pulls out a solid win, something like 31-20.

What's left is a one-loss SEC champion with wins against teams like LSU, Georgia, Alabama and Florida State versus another undefeated Big Ten champion who swept the Big Ten and Oregon State and nobody else. Who plays in the title game? Would be interesting to see.

I'm not sure that will work this year for Florida (or USC for that matter). Oklahoma is the only team that can jump undefeated PSU, I believe with the way the BCS points are already setup. They don't update everything, right?

Obviously I'm pulling for PSU, but if 1, 2, and 3 all go undefeated for the rest of the year, I'm not going to be all upset on PSU being #3 and losing a shot at the title. They would deserve it as much as the other two teams, but Texas is obviously the best team in the country this year...they just need to finish the season obviously, to prove it. I'm not really sure I would say Alabama is better than PSU though.
