Heroes Vol.3

Post by Animalor »

Great debut to the 3rd season.

Looks like they managed to take out a lot of the suck from Season 2.

Even Maya was nowhere near as annoying (that sideboob shot did help her cause tremendously =P)

Looking forward till next week.

I dunno, I wasn't a big fan. But that could very likely be because after last season I'm almost consciously trying not to like it.

I am still annoyed Sylar is alive, it was corny that they kept him alive and it really bothers me for some reason.

I also don't like how they try to do a little bit of each story every show. I'd rather they focus on one of the people each show and hash out a bit of the story instead of giving 5 minutes of progression for each of the characters.

I'm gonna keep watching it though, and see how I feel after a few more episodes.

I pretty much agree here.
[Show]
I didn't really like the opener. I haven't liked Mohinder for a while now and the way he was acting in the season opener just made it even worse.

The entire Nikki/Jessica/Tracy(?) shit is just stupid and damn well better have some kind of fucking awesome explanation that makes me eat these words, but fuck that shit. I can't see any angle how it will turn out interesting, but I hope to god I'm wrong.

Nathan seeing Linderman is pretty wtf as well, but I'm moderately interested.

Future Peter coming back and shooting his brother, Hiro seeing Ando kill himself and well I guess basically "Time Travel" is just a huge turn off to me at this point. There are so many "Why didn't you just do this instead?" things and butterfly effects that I don't really like it in a storyline, especially one where almost EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER is a fucking bumbling retard and doesn't know how to use/want to learn how to use their powers.

Claire, emo more, as if we didn't get enough last season.

What the hell was that shit at the end of the episode, so if that was real Ma Patrelli (because at this point, how the fuck do we even know if she is, Peter is stuck in somebody else's fucking body????!) she said Sylar was her son, hmm, what? huh? It's more and more like a soap opera now.

I don't know, I keep wanting to like the show, but some of it's twists and surprises just seem retarded.

Yeah it is getting pretty weird to follow. Almost "Lost-esque".
[Show]
IMO I think they, the producers, really like the actors (Ali Larter) and felt they needed to recreate them. Giving Ali Larter ice powers is probably a better power than what she had before. The probably couldn't figure out a way to factor her in. But who knows.

I must admit I was happy to see Mohinder bang the shit out of Maya. At least now she has a meaningful role on the show.

Next on the agenda of annoying though:

Now it seems not only does half the cast have the ability to time travel and ignorance of the grandfather paradox, but we've got 3 new seers, who only see the future as it will be until it changes, again. /puke

The stupidity they've written for Hiro is just out there. Yeah, he's a dork but he's not that stupid. Not after what he's experienced. Hiro's buddy is still a bad actor. The "twists" are getting silly and we're only a few episodes in.

Yeah.. the whole season is just ridiculous. The twists seem ridiculous to me:

After seeing the preview for next week, are peter and sylar gonna fuck now? I mean this whole thing is just getting retarded. The mohinder thing is dumb, claire hasn't gotten any less annoying, and I truly wish the bitch could die.

He lost all of his powers at one point, did he have amnesia too? I am just accepting that maybe he didn't get all of his powers back. Maybe he doesn't remember how to do the super hearing yet? I dunno... I keep a relatively high suspension of disbelief.

It's good they didn't time travel in an episode. Hopefully they stop that...like what ever happened to Peter's Irish Girlfriend who was trapped in the future? Oops, too busy being emo and forgot about her =(
Edit...apparently the quote and spoiler tags look the same to me.

Watched the first five hours (minus commercials) of HEROES 3 over the past two nights.

I agree in general that this season rates up there next to season one with season two being forgettable.
[Show]
I like the new Daphne speedster character, don't really care for Mohinder's new role, like that they found a way to keep sylar in the mix, like that they have had some multi hero slugfests, don't like that Daphne ends up with Parkman, at least in the probable future scenario presented. (I think Parkman's a dufus), am entertained (or was) by the Daphne/Hiro storyline, like that they seem to introduce multiple big revelations per episode instead of stretching one big one into four shows with cliffhangers, think that it's really hard to have a time traveler written into the story as they can circumvent so many things by their ability, glad they killed off one Peter, think Parkman has gotten the worst new storyline and looked ridiculous with the warpaint on his face, like that Claire isn't just a stupid cheerleader but at least is a little interesting as her future black haired killer self, thought that all the future timeline stuff would bother me but it hasn't, think Nathan's character is slightly more interesting but still kinda bland, thought that the vortex guy storyline was excellent,
I've been entertained every episode this season so far. Good job. I suggest we go back to spoilering the entire thread for HEROES. I waited for a month to come visit this thrad until I had watched the shows. I don't think people should be reading this thread if they aren't caught up. It's worked well in the past that way.

My problem with this show is now that with how freely they were using the time travel, it makes most scenes completely irrelevant.
[Show]
Am i really supposed to believe Ando is dead? We know Hiro wouldn't do something like that unless he felt he could change it later, be it time travel or Adam's blood. I just don't see how they plan on killing off characters when there is a character with regenerative abilities on both sides of the field.
The show lost a lot of the shock value. Personally, i think J. J. Abrams, with Fringe, will be able to tell a better story dealing with pseudo-science.

I still enjoy the show, and watch it regularly, but they need to be more careful about time travel.

Yeah, this was a really good episode. The whole season has been good. They pack a lot of stuff into each show instead of dragging things out and still manage to have good cliffhangers at the end of each show.

Too soon to give an overall rating other than: It's better than Season 2.
[Show]
I thought the part where Elle disintegrates (at least it appeared that way) Sylar when he enters her room was a rather lame Watchmen ripoff. But that's just me.

Oh and longest eclipse of all time. So long that it can't be contained all in one episode apparently. Not to mention the fact that it's visible in a rather large region of the world such as oh.. I don't know.. Seemingly just about the whole western hemisphere. I can suspend disbelief but only to a point!
Totality can never last more than 7 min 31 s, and is usually much shorter: during each millennium there are typically fewer than 10 total solar eclipses exceeding 7 minutes. The last time this happened was June 30, 1973 (7 min 3 sec). Observers aboard a Concorde aircraft were able to stretch totality to about 74 minutes by flying along the path of the Moon's umbra. The next eclipse exceeding seven minutes in duration will not occur until June 25, 2150. The longest total solar eclipse during the 8,000-year period from 3000 BC to 5000 AD will occur on July 16, 2186, when totality will last 7 min 29 s. For comparison, the longest eclipse of the 21st century will occur on July 22, 2009 and last 6 min 39 sec.
74 minutes on a Concorde. That's pretty cool!

And oh yeah.. Who is writing the 9th Wonder comic? In the first season it was Isaac Mendez but he sorta lost his head yet it still magically seems to come out every month.

Writer's strike happened.
An audience member asked about Caitlin, Peter Petrelli's love interest from Season 2, who was last seen left behind in a plague-stricken future – a future that thanks to the re-shot end of "Generations," doesn't exist. Kring revealed that if the strike hadn't cut Season 2 short, the plan was, "to get to [Caitlin] around episode 14 or 15, during 'Exodus'. She was a casualty of that storyline never being told." After the long hiatus during which Heroes was off the air, Kring said, "We realized that going back to [Caitlin] nine and a half months later would have been insanity." He felt that while there would "be some people asking about it, for most people it would have been a hard left [in the story]." When the fan asked if Peter would ever acknowledge Caitlin or express any grief over what seems to be her dire fate, Kring replied, "No, we passed it. We leapfrogged it." He added that when the idea of returning to Caitlin was brought up, they asked, "Really? Are we going to risk that? We have enough stuff to [deal with]."

Last night's episode was a much-needed depart from the last 2 episodes, which I obviously thought sucked. It was awesome.
[Show]
Loved the part where Hiro took Sylar, lightning bitch and Claire away from the scene with his powers. The next episode with Claire and him in the past looks like it is going to be very sweet. Also good to see Sylar back to his old ways, and I don't care that lightning girl is gone, if she is really dead. To me, she was just eye candy. I'm predicting Sylar's the one to finish off papa petrelli once he figures out how they deceived and manipulated him.

Speaking of trimming the fat, Maya needs to die already. I didn't care last season about her and her stupid brother, and was not happy to see her this return season. Thankfully she's been absent lately. The whole Mohinder is The Fly story line bothers me too.

The comic guys were funny. I get the feeling Seth Green does brief spots in shows just so he can network and get the stars to do the voices when he decides to parody it on Robot Chicken. Anyone see the Entourage where he got beat up? hilarious

This past episode, which featured Hiro and Claire, was wonderful. This show needs to focus more on individual characters, instead of spending five minutes an episode on each one. Cut some of the extra fat (Niki) and move the story along one person at a time. Brilliant, I'm looking forward to tomorrow's episode.

No, not at all. I just didn't like it. I guess it's over now. So ... yay!

As far as last night's episode goes, it made me think about the world-ending scenario, or at least some early footage of it. When Ando "kills" Hiro, he most likely was trying to save him. Since Ando's newfound ability is to supercharge other's abilities, when he shot Hiro with his red fire ball thing, it did not kill him. It forced his time-travel to go haywire and shot him into god knows when. Then again, maybe that future is done for. Can't say really since Niki #2 picked up the hitch-hiking Mohinder. She should still be interested in the serum, since she is so adamant about killing her power.

Characters as of Monday night

Hiro - Powerless. all of the formula destroyed.
Arthur Petrelli - Dead, no more time travel there.
Peter - Has power again. No idea if he can do any of the old powers anymore. He ws able to fly but he was also in close contact with Nathan. Possibly cant time travel anymore.

Hopefully they purged all time travel from the show now and they can get back to real writing without cheap writing tactics. I like the art tips and visions, actually going there and changing things - not so much..

Yeah, Peter's ability was like a sponge: he just sucked in whatever power was around him. I wonder if he'll have to start all over again.

Also, wasn't Peter killed in the future by two gunshots to the chest? I thought he had absorbed Claire's ability way back in Season 1, so how did two bullets bring him down? Ugh, there are so many holes in this show. That's what you get for messing with time, somewhere along the way you contradict yourself in about ten different places.
