Madden 2009 (360)

Post by Canelek »

I just picked this up at lunch. Has anyone had a chance to play it yet?

I am particularly intested in this purported dynamic diffculty level feature.

Always the problem for me and sports games--it goes from way too fucking easy, to retarded pain in the ass.

Waiting for mine to show up in the mail. I got the 20th anniversary version. It has Head Coach 09, Madden 09 and Madden 93 with updated roster for 89 dollars. Finally a special edition actually worth the money.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

Hmmm. Seems about the same as every other fucking Madden game.

Think I would have figured it out by now.....

They have sponsor breaks to thank EA for bringing us this game....like every 3 minutes. Yer fucking kidding me, right? Same game as the one I bought 2 years ago. Oy, I feel stupid for buying this.

I've given this another chance now that the season is underway. It does improve slightly over the last few years. Once I ignored the self-advertising, it became much more enjoyable. Not amazing, but not as horrid as I initially thought.

Anyway....

Are there roster updates available? If so, do I need to subscribe to XBox Live to get them? It just doesn't seem right to play players who are not on the team anymore, or in one case, had never been on the team (Carney (K)). Game updates would be seriously cool.

I heard that there were roster updates available. Favre is actually with the Jets in at least one of the updates. I do not know if they require a subscription to access. There may be an option in the game menus to access this. I have only played it at my sister's house with her boyfriend, and I felt that it was an improvement of the craptastic version released last year.

I knew there was going to be a Farve roster releases (insert jerking-off motion here). I just wanted to know if there were updates for teams that mattered. :D I will check it tonight.

Yeah, I just used that as an example. This was being quoted similar to the upcoming NBA player DNA feature which one of the NBA games will utilize which will actually update the player ratings throughout the season. I would guess that injuries could suck if you were using that and a star got taken out for the season :P

See, now THAT would fucking rock (aside from the injury thing).

Breakout rookies, comeback players, overrated/underrated players....shit like that.

Can the Winnow curse actually impact players or games on Madden? Should this be a new poll?

I don't see why not. He has already taken out my team's best rookie running back (Torrain). That could have just been an ASU thing though.

I just thought I should point out that Winnow hasn't mentioned the Cardinals all season, and so far they are doing well.

Don't worry, he will.

And when he does, Kurt Warner will get a career ending decapitation or something similar.
