As far as the hyperbole thing goes, you do it ALL THE TIME. (Please note that that is also slight hyperbole; you aren't always doing it, just more often than you should).

I file this one under the same Media bullshit as the stories about Palin's daughter having a baby then pretending it was her's. It's a non-story period. I can't even watch the news anymore. They just SUCK.

I thought it was hilarious that Olbermann got "demoted" for the upcoming debates. He is just a douchebag and it couldn't happen to a more deserving person. I remember when he was the Sports guy on channel 9 in LA, I thought he sucked then too.

I did see something this week I had not really noticed though, and statements like this will only hurt Obama, taken out of context or not.

I really felt that we would see an Obama win this November, but I just had dinner with the in-laws and while they are always nice to me, the mother-in-law and I do not see eye to eye on many issues. We talked about the election and when I saw then sheer idiocy behind her stances, I started questioning if Obama can truely win. If the over 60 set gets in a tizzy about Obama, they can vote McCain in by sheer numbers. Add the NRA group and he has a serious following already. They blindly believe everything about him being Muslim and think all Muslims are evil. It's a scary thought process and one I had not paid much attention to until that dinner, but the anger and concern in her voice showed me that there is a segment of this country that will be coming out to vote and if the younger voters don't show up, McCain has a serious chance.

That was also one of my worries, but the people over 60 are getting polled. The majority of people 18-25 years of age have no phone other than a cell phone, and cannot be polled.

So if the people that are over 60 years of age have already been polled, and Obama is barely leading, imagine what would happen if the 18-25 group was able to get polled. I haven't met a McCain supporter yet that is between 18-25, but im not saying they aren't out there. It seems that age group tends to be a lot less ignorant than your 60+.

Do you not see a problem with the media driving content based on a random and useless piece of information instead of actual news? I think you might agree that the media is a joke and a fraud, but I'm sure you don't want to think about the part they played in your choice of sides.

If Obama does manage to win it will be those billions you mentioned that gets him there. I keep seeing these "Jobs for Obama" signs, for voter outreach programs, posted around town and I really don't think it's right to seek out disinterested non-voters while at the same time feeding them your spiel. That all sounds good but nobody gives a damn about those points when it comes to voting for the president. People tend to pick out one or two things they feel are important and completely blow off the rest. Fortunately for the Republicans, when it comes to presidents, they put a lot of stock in national security. Senators and Congressmen get voted in on economic issues. And no, he's not above appeasing the radicals.

As president, if you were going to place Obama in your cabinet, what job would you give him? Maybe Secretary of Education? I wouldn't stick him anywhere else with his experience and he certainly shouldn't be in the White House. He's a good speech giver. I have a feeling he's not going to fare too well in open debates which isn't going to help his cause.

As always, I look at the presidential election not from what's best for the country but at how their platforms will impact the voting. People hate me for it but a candidate can't do shit if he doesn't get elected. All the ranting about specific points sound good but don't really matter in the end. Not unless the candidate bends a little to grab enough votes.

Well since we agree that polls and the mainstream media don't mean shit, the only qualitative measuring stick, and the only one that really fucking matters, is votes. That is what this country is all about after all. And you are decrying voter registration drives and the volunteers and organizers behind them as if they are wholly unamerican. The majority of voters have been democrats since I've been alive, and the difference has been that Republicans were more organized, more focused, and more able to get their people to the polls through wedge issues and voter drive initiatives. The Olympics? We got some swimming medals and had a couple hotties in gymnastics that got fucked over by the judges. I don't recall big outpourings of patriotism over them. In fact, what I remember more is people making big news about the type of cereal that the swimmer guy eats because it wasn't fucking Wheaties.

Idiots? It's worked so far hasn't it? Using Hillary as a tool to help the republicans is what it's all about. First, make sure she loses in the primaries and then work to get some of her upset supporters to side with McCain.

If you recall at the very beginning of these election discussions, my only goal was to make sure Hillary was not a candidate.
