Using it now. Can't find a way to open search results in a new tab by default. I still don't understand why a new tab isn't created by default whenever you search for something or at minimum allow that as an option. That's what tabs are for.

Seems speedy.

Firefox is too customized for me to switch but this has potential. Lost my live bookmarks as well.

I read the other day that FF 3.10 will have a much faster javascript engine. With that improvement, I'll stick with FF until Google has some add-ons to allow for tweaking.

Chrome already beats out any Internet Explorer version.

Edit: my comics website looks nice using Chrome. Bonus points.

Well, FF3 was a huge improvement over FF2 in terms of Javascript speed. If they increase it even further, that'll be great. With more and more AJAX type applications, speed is a necessity.

I won't switch to Chrome full time yet, but it seems like a nice foundation with lots of room for future growth and awesomeness.

The question is, do we really need another fucking browser? Come on, it's not like Mozilla and MS have completely fallen asleep. FF3 is great and with the new java script improvement coming soon I really don't see why Google would have to go put out yet another browser.

It won't take much to get me to switch over but having something similar to TabMixPlus in Firefox is a must with me if I hope to be as productive and efficient as I am in Firefox.

I don't see a way to use add-ons yet so I assume that will come in a later beta. Live bookmarks and forced new tab for Searches and Bookmarks would be the minimum requirement for me. i kind of like the tabs to be right above the web page as well instead of up top although that's minor.

I still don't see how everyone puts up with having to hit CTRL-T to get a new tab before executing a search. Hell, if you're going to use the same window for everything, it's easier to just have the google webpage hot linked somewhere, otherwise, a new search should open in a new window by default. Seems so fucking obvious to me but not one browser does it and only Firefox has the add-on to make it easy to do.

I really like being able to rip off a tab into its own window and merge it back again with easy. That's a huge help when developing websites with multiple monitors.

The incognito window is great for married people.

You've gone incognito. Pages you view in this window won't appear in your browser history or search history, and they won't leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close the incognito window. Any files you download or bookmarks you create will be preserved, however.

Does it have ad-blocking?

It would seem logical to me that Google,as the top dog in Internet advertising, might want a browser that didn't block ads. The only mention of it in their comic presentation is confining pop-ups to the tabs they came from.

I probably won't install it in any event because I'm quite pleased with Firefox.

I'm sure it will be an add-on for blocking ads, not a core feature. The pop-up blocking is a stellar idea, and a much better implementation than any other browser since its actually not possible for it to launch a new window no matter what they do, while some still slip through Firefox.

Used Chrome for a short time last night and absolutely love it so far... As a beta, it's remarkable. It seems form auto-completing is missing, which I usually use to log into my webmail account (I type one letter, hit down, and tab to the next field) but other than that... amazing performance.

I'm sad that I can't get Freecap to force it through my Socks proxy so I can use it at work.

I've been messing around with it the last couple of days, and I really like it so far. I love how it handles pop-ups and being able to drag a tab out to its own window and back is really slick. I don't think I'll stop using Firefox for it any time soon, but it could definitely be a contender one day as it continues to be refined / improved.
