I was just going to post this, too. I think it was pneumonia and the other disease he had that did him in, though.

Mac, 50, had been hospitalized for about a week at Northwestern Hospital, according to his spokeswoman. A few years ago, Mac disclosed that he suffered from sarcoidosis, a rare autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in tissue, most often in the lungs.

He was one of my favorite comedians and it's a shame he died so young

Any disease that fucks with your immune system is going to be complicated to hell and back by pneumonia. He had sarcoidosis, which is usually a lung disorder.

pneumonia came from an infection. his lung condition was only an indirect factor- because he was on medications for it that purposefully compromised his immune system. just what i read out of an article

He was a talented guy and worked his way up from nothing. It is a shame that he died.
