Yeah they did, that's why I went through the trouble of posting this...No silly, they just had PPV. This service is basically a response to Netfix's on demand streaming service. Which btw, Netflix also negotiated with Microsoft to allow streaming of their movies/shows through Xbox Live.

I don't think it is a direct response to Netflix, as much as it is a response to the Video on Demand services which other carriers have had for a while (Time Warner and AT&T's Uverse being two that I have used).
