Continuously calling Obama "the messiah" or "the one" or a celebrity such as Britney Spears (lol) or any such variation is an attempt by McCain, Republicans, their surrogates, and their propaganda machine to paint Obama as an outsider, as not part of the mainstream of current American political thought, and therefore, not representative of the sentiments of the majority of voters. Furthermore, these phrases serve as dog whistles for racists (such as Midnyte) to remind them that Obama is actually omfg a black man, which in their mind automatically makes him a liar and a thug. Simply review Midnyte's posts on this page alone in this thread for evidence. The Republican dog whistle campaign is quite harsh because most mainstream Americans will not recognize it, which enables plausible yet false deniability by those who perpetrate these tactics and those who fall for them.

Ironically, they are attacking the man for being too popular, for being too admired, as if these traits are vices for either democracy or for leadership. It is the epitome of contradiction and of course, a staple of right wing thought. But understandably, it is their
only avenue of victory, to make this election a referendum on Obama's uniqueness and unfamiliarity with their ignorant base. They have to do this, because if this election were to become a referendum on the Republican party, on the policies of the right wing, of the down right atrocious and treacherous behavior of George W. Bush and his administration, of the blatant financial raping of the American public, or of
any substantive issue of the last 8 years, they would be fucking clobbered in a fashion this country hasn't seen since 1980. But my guess is, despite their protracted exhaustive efforts, and despite the fact that John McCain used to be an American hero, the outcome will nonetheless highly resemble the Reagan revolution. Then we will have an opportunity, not just as a political party, but as citizens of a country, to re-establish our integrity, to improve our reputation, to fix our economy, to restore our constitution and our laws, to provide for our sick, our disabled, and our veterans, and to bring about an ideological revolution that entails peace, progress, and prosperity, all of which have been greatly hindered, obstructed, or outright reversed by the very people who are attempting to persuade you that Obama is not the answer. They want you to believe that despite the horrible decisions they made which resulted in the multitude of crises we now face, that they are a safer choice to lead this country into the future. LMFAO.
