Hrmm, in fact that's even less subjective....

if I was to use the same level of hyperbole, it might be:

FACT: Barack Obama voted against a law designed to make gun manufactures immune to civil lawsuits.

I'd vote against that too. Now if you wanted to bring in a law to punish people for bringing meritless lawsuits, I'd vote for that... but to remove the right to due process against an entire industry... not so much.

Worse yet, that ad is a shining example of how his campaign is being run by idiots. All fluff and no substance indeed. McCain's needs to ay off the character assassination routine. I think McCain's people are sampling some of his wife's drugs.

Honestly, his wife is waaaaaaaay too easy a target, as is his affair during his frst marriage and subsequent divorce, so I'll take Obama's lead and leave those out of the discussion (for now). Besides, I don't have the time to type all the things wrong with Cindy. Holy fucking shit, what a wreck.

"We're in very serious times, and people want serious answers to serious problems. We think they're going to get that from Barack Obama. We'll let John McCain and his campaign scoop out footage of Paris Hilton or Britney Spears and whatever other person they want to put on TV."
This, I agree with.

If I had kids, I certainly would want them to be smarter than me....at least smart enough to not do some of the stupid shit that I have done. As far as the eenteelect...well, kinda hard to beat that, being as I am a fucking genious.

Now, to policy.

I firmy believe that both candidates will continue the grand tradition of blowing smoke up our collective asses until someone is elected. Not that the ass-blowing will stop there, of course. Once elected, either man will likely smokescreen their bullshit and half-truths for a whatever crusade they embark on. I hope it is not a War on Liberalism though. I would be fucked. ;)

I assume you're just time wasting again, but I'll give you one, because it's ironically most often quoted as a "classic silly lawsuit"

Relax Funk. I've spoken about this topic to you before. You need to be able to separate VV from RL and MMOLife. VV or any messge board for that matter are not indicative of real life. While there are some on this board who try to represent themselves truthfully, much more others do not. These boards are a place to be someone different. To live an alter ego. To serve as a stress relief. Many others reasons to, I'm sure. I understand how you can get caught up in it. I have found myself caught up it in too. It wasn't until the last time I came back after quitting the all mighty VV, that I've been sucessful in keeping the worlds separated. Miir isn't half the asshole he presents himself to be. Nick isn't half as angry as he represents himself to be. Chill, brother.....chill.
Yeah, that's the difference though. I don't have time to separate that. I don't pretend to be someone I'm not on this website because I see no reason. The pretending to be a prick shit if that's really what it is, is not for me. Either you are a friend of mine, or you aren't.. I just don't get the mentality.
Wait, so you're saying you don't just act like a douchebag here, but you actually are a douchebag IRL...

Isn't it?

She was 81 years old, she is fragile. Even if the coffee was 20 degrees colder, which is supposedly where most places fell at, she probably still would have had some serious issues.

When you get a cup of really hot coffee, you don't try to drink it, and you especially don't hold it in between your legs to drive or anything else stupid. It should go into the cup holder in your car, and should stay there til' it's ready to drink.

I wouldn't say the lawsuit was totally frivolous, but I don't think the lady should have been awarded anything over and above her medical bills, because either she a) didn't practice common sense on how to handle a really hot cup of coffee, or 2) she couldn't because she is old, frail, and shaky. Neither of those is McDonalds' fault.

She suffered extensive third degree burns.
That's permanent damage that can never be fixed.
They were brewing coffee way out of spec because they could get a few more cups out of a batch of grounds and save some money. The coffee was served at a temperature that would have destroyed her mouth if she drank it...she just happened to accidentally spill it on herself.

Being permanently scarred for life is frivolous?

McDonalds coffee used to be very poor quality.
They served it at a ridiculously high temperature so that people would be gone from the restaurant before they would be able to drink it.. and therefore less likely to return it if they were unsatisfied.
A blantant example of sketchy business practice resulting in personal injury.

I think he did very well with handling and responding to these guys, but it's clear in this that he's not a prolific speaker when ad-libbing. The video doesn't show the initial outburst (i'm assuming they shouted what was on their banner to get his attention) but the questioner took his time and chose his words pretty carefully...

I think McCain was a fool this week. Obama could not attack McCain prior to this, he would have been labeled the angry black man attacking the old honorable POW. Now the CW in the media is McCain attacked Obama childishly and dishonestly. When Obama chooses to go negative he will be doing so *begrudgingly* in self defense.

Same thing as Clinton. Clinton threw the "kitchen sink". Obama took a few smacks until the media narative was set and then he went negative. After he locked down the delegate math he went back to the good guy acting contrite about his momentary negative lapse.

I still think the coffee lawsuit was frivolous. She burned herself. If the drive-through worker spilled it on her while handing it to her, then it wouldn't be frivolous. Insurance is there to cover her medical expenses, the lawsuit was unnecessary.

Well, I hate to dissapoint that ad, but when Obama is elected I will call him President Obama; not The One, or any derivitive of God. That was a pretty dumb ad, in that it swayed me away from the right and toward Obama, when it should be making me want to vote McCain. I mean, they fucking closed the ad by indicating that Obama may in fact be god, and then asked if he was ready to lead, despite him being god?

From what little I have heard/seen of Fox lately, they have been positive in the reporting on Obama. It was Clinton they would consistently roast.

Other than Midnight's low brow RW parroting I have to agree, Obama is way more religious than I would have expected the lefties to be comfortable with.

I can handle a religious man, even if I do find the idea of religion to be for idiots. I'm more concerned with the whole attitude he represents for America to the rest of the world, i.e - not being for the violent unnecessary deaths of people you percieve to be your enemies but who don't even know or care about you. (until you kill their family, and then they vow revenge, and then magically become "terrorists" who "hate our freedom" *cries with ecstasy over the stars and stripes*)

I watched Fox News for 15 minutes last night, it was all I could stomach this week. The entire 15 minutes was devoted to bashing Obama for being a lunatic black racist. So unless I was just very very very unlucky, in the several past weeks that I've given Fox the occasional nod, or Boogahz is simply trying to ignore reality, is up for discussion.

This is also worthy of note merely for its utter stupidity.
What's amazing is watching the same folks who bash the religious zealots, completely look past the words of the Messiah. Your blind support of him is quite funny. If this was a Republican talking like this, he would be bashed so hard for this shit. I love watching this all go down.

This is a problem for me. I think I've mentioned it before in a couple of places here. He's by no means the perfect candidate, particularly from my perspective. However, he's the best option I have available to me under our shitty system in which the odds are stacked so heavily in the favor of the two privileged parties. His overt religiosity is disturbing to me, but on the other hand, his politics are not so driven by theology as tends to be the case with the right-wing religious folks. As a result, I can live with his superstitious nuttiness a lot easier than I can with, say, GWB's. His support for Bush's faith-based initiatives also irritates me quite a bit, and his politics are, generally speaking, too moderate for my tastes. Again, however, he's the best option I have available, so I support him.

Continuously calling Obama "the messiah" or "the one" or a celebrity such as Britney Spears (lol) or any such variation is an attempt by McCain, Republicans, their surrogates, and their propaganda machine to paint Obama as an outsider, as not part of the mainstream of current American political thought, and therefore, not representative of the sentiments of the majority of voters. Furthermore, these phrases serve as dog whistles for racists (such as Midnyte) to remind them that Obama is actually omfg a black man, which in their mind automatically makes him a liar and a thug. Simply review Midnyte's posts on this page alone in this thread for evidence. The Republican dog whistle campaign is quite harsh because most mainstream Americans will not recognize it, which enables plausible yet false deniability by those who perpetrate these tactics and those who fall for them.

Ironically, they are attacking the man for being too popular, for being too admired, as if these traits are vices for either democracy or for leadership. It is the epitome of contradiction and of course, a staple of right wing thought. But understandably, it is their only avenue of victory, to make this election a referendum on Obama's uniqueness and unfamiliarity with their ignorant base. They have to do this, because if this election were to become a referendum on the Republican party, on the policies of the right wing, of the down right atrocious and treacherous behavior of George W. Bush and his administration, of the blatant financial raping of the American public, or of any substantive issue of the last 8 years, they would be fucking clobbered in a fashion this country hasn't seen since 1980. But my guess is, despite their protracted exhaustive efforts, and despite the fact that John McCain used to be an American hero, the outcome will nonetheless highly resemble the Reagan revolution. Then we will have an opportunity, not just as a political party, but as citizens of a country, to re-establish our integrity, to improve our reputation, to fix our economy, to restore our constitution and our laws, to provide for our sick, our disabled, and our veterans, and to bring about an ideological revolution that entails peace, progress, and prosperity, all of which have been greatly hindered, obstructed, or outright reversed by the very people who are attempting to persuade you that Obama is not the answer. They want you to believe that despite the horrible decisions they made which resulted in the multitude of crises we now face, that they are a safer choice to lead this country into the future. LMFAO.

If you are really really really fucking stupid, or ignorant, or racist, or rich, or militant, or deluded, or insecure, you just might vote for John McCain. Because if the last 8 years haven't taught you anything, nothing and no one ever will.

This is criminally retarded.

NASA is already being fucked over, Obama is in danger of looking like a 2 dimensional Dan Brown character if he isn't careful (he's still a better choice than McCain thought).

This is a perfect exmaple of liberals who think the amount of words they use outweighs the importance of its substance. Amusing yet dangerous. Dog Whistle? I'm there are plenty of people who care that he is black, I'm not one of them. I could give a rats ass. It's not about race. It's about substance. You place Obama on the right side of ticket, talking about capitalism and republican platforms and he'd have my vote. You NEED it to be about something else. You NEED somethign else to blame should it all go wrong. You're so jaded.

HAHA

Dude. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you? How can you be so angry? Cop out? I'm telling you how I feel about this issue. How is that a cop out? Is it because you just so badly need me to be the racist you think I am? Would it shatter your precious little world to accept I am not that guy? Knock it off man. The childish angry internet dude act is old. It was mildly interesting, maybe, 5-8 years ago? It's not anymore. Time to be more reasonable.

I took the liberty of making every unnecessary sentence tiny, keeping what was necessary to get your point across at normal size.

Basically, this would have been enough:
You place Obama on the right side of ticket, talking about capitalism and republican platforms and he'd have my vote. You NEED it to be about something else. You NEED somethign else to blame should it all go wrong.
The other bullshit was unnecessary. Once you realize this, and apply that to your future posts, people might start treating you better.
