So yeh like, I dunno if anyone has discussed This here or not before. But man. Serioulsy. real income from a computer game?
I may never look for a job again.
The way the game works. It's free to download. It's free to play. BUT. Who the fuk wants to play as a poor newbie. So you deposite some IRL cash, wich becomes in game cash. say you plop in $40. what any game normaly costs. Buy yerself some start up gear, go out exploring, and trade what you find/make to other players for their in game money. then whenever you feel like it. Withdraw your in game cash back into IRL moneys.... seriosly. no fuking chinese plat farmer middle men? OMG. its fuking genious!
My brother has been playing this for a little while. Puting into the game what he would have been putting into any other mmorpg. And once his char's skills are up, he can start withdrawing! say $100 here, $200 there. Too bad it's sci-fi. but I may still give it a whirl.

Re: Entropia Universe
This game is absolute shit.
I briefly played the original Project Entropia and Entropia Universe.
You WILL have to put a few hundred bucks into the game just to get started unless you want to grind and gather and sell sweat for like a month. Skills are a major fucking grind to raise.
There are no events, no quests, no lore.
No reason to really even play the game unless you consider a virtual economy simulator fun.
Graphics used to be right fucking awful but they have been continually improved. The character models and animations are hideous.
I saw a blurb on the site about upgrading to Cryengine2 but nothing more recent than 12 months, so I guess it's using the same shitty engine.
If your goal is to make money playing video games, go play EQ2 on Station Exchange server.
At least that's a fun game.

If you're serious about sitting at home and making money on a computer game, Second Life is where you make money if you are handy with Photoshop, can script or build. A stay at home mom I know made 80K last year making clothes while in the game. The people who create skins and dance animations make three figures and of course Anshe Chung, is a millionaire (IRL) off buying virtual land and then renting it in SL.Noysyrump wrote:So yeh like, I dunno if anyone has discussed This here or not before. Seems whacked at first but really it isn't. Remember when EQ characters could sell for 2K on eBay?
