Obviously, going by basic human emotion, dying by Colon Cancer is not a fate anyone should have to suffer. Then again, he was a total fucking shill for the current US administration - so I guess they're even. It's a pity Karma doesn't seem to work on the higher ups of Government, and only apparantly on this Scooter Libbys and Tony Snows of this world.

Despite the tragedy of colon cancers existence and effect on humans, for some realistic context this random post on SomethingAwful sums his death up pretty well.

Now, as unfortunate as Tony Snow's entire existence was as a dickhole of a conservative dipshit douchebag to the Bush Administration lying ass mouthpiece extraordinaire, his death was an unfortunate one. The best that could've happened was him never being born, or being smothered as an infant. That he was allowed to infest the American political landscape as he did and disseminate as much chaos and pain and malice isn't undone by his painful death. Let's not celebrate his death, for it came 53 years too late to do the world as a whole any good. Let's just wish him a painful afterlife, if we believe in that, or be thankful that his life essence has been returned to the void from which he can do the world no more harm.

I'm trying, and apart from thinking that Colon Cancer is horrific, especially for the average joe and I suppose even for this shill....well.....nope, I can't think of anything at all good to say about the death of a cuntbag mouthpiece of the Bush Administration.

I didn't agree with Tony Snow's politics. I don't agree with some of your politics, Nick. Who was he? A reporter for FoxNews (which I don't get from my cable company) and a guy who spent a year or so being the spokesman for the President of the U.S.(i.e. the voice of the most powerful man in the western if not entire world). You can condemn him for his views, but were they really his views or a compromise to ambition, to the idea that many of us have that we want to "be somebody" who is recognized and remembered? Do you know how he spent his private life, how much work or contributing to charity he did? Do you feel that way about every politician, and media personality, including actors and musicians, because 99.99% of them do that exact thing?

I'm as big a critic of the Bush Administration as anyone, but I'm not sure I'd have anywhere near as much vitriol for someone whose job was essentially their PR. In large part I agree with you, Aslanna: I don't believe a lot of commentary from the White House on most issues of any substance, but at the same time when you look at what Snow was there for, the most serious thing on his watch was the Alberto Gonzales shit, which IMO equates roughly the same level of censure as Clinton lying under oath about his hummers from Monica (should have been questioned under oath is perhaps another issue but your highest elected official DID lie under oath). The rest of it was carrying on with the "party line". I don't think it is fair to hold Snow to the same light as Bush, Chenney, Rice or Rummy or even Ari Fleischer and Scott McClelland in terms of complicity in lying about Iraq, secret prisons and possible prisoner abuses. When he was at Fox, did Fox News softball a lot of coverage and win some brownie points? As far as what I have heard, yes, but so did a lot of the rest of the media, including people like Tim Russert who was almost made out to be a bloody saint when he kicked off a couple weeks ago. If you want to condemn Snow on those grounds, you should be condemning most of the major media faces too.
