Re: Wii Fit
My brother got this and was saying that he actually got a sweat going after about 1/2 an hour of this.
He's also been working out recently since this new job has a gym/exercise program and he's dropped 30 lbs recently as well.
Wii Fit has me considering getting a Wii..

I like the mixing of video games and working out. I haven't heard anything about Wii Fit though.
DDR tracks all that stuff too and it would get me sweating within 5 minutes on medium!

Re: Wii Fit
As soon as I can find one, I'm going to get it. I've actually been doing a lot of yoga/weight training and calisthenics lately, so I'm interested to see how it is.
The only negative I've heard about the game is that there's no way to define like... a program, or list of activities that would constitute a 'workout'.

Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.
Re: Wii Fit
Sounds interesting. I'm a master of the mouse Olympics and keyboard calisthenics but it would be nice to branch out.
Re: Wii Fit
That is an issue with it, and your trainer doesn't exactly tell you what to do, unless you do a strength activity, it normally tells you to do a certain yoga activity to complete the workout.noel wrote:As soon as I can find one, I'm going to get it. I do kind of like it that way honestly, I decide what I'm up for rather than having a strict regimen, and the longer I've spent with it, I've found myself doing more tiring workouts on my own. Of course it is still a video game and you do have to unlock certain activities

I'd be down as long as they didn't send Mario to my door with a pee-cup for using cheat codes.

Re: Wii Fit
I have a Wii and Wii-fit sitting at a GameCrazy near me. Dunno if I will be picking it up yet though. You can go get mine!

Re: Wii Fit
I have actually gotten 2 at gamecrazy. My sister couldn't find any in NYC, so one was for her!

Re: Wii Fit
While I still think this, along with the Wii in general, is a gimicky piece of trash, there is definitely at least one good thing about it.

That is a pretty convincing argument to purchase the game. I would like to add that youtube comments rule, they are always moronic but crack me up, like this response to the video you linked:

Playboy copied the video above:

The original unrehearsed version was kinda. Playboy's is just free marketing.

I know a lot are having fun with the Wii Fit but just to keep with my other thread, (lets talk Wii), here's the status of Wii Fits in Japan:
Nintendo is still making bucketloads of money.64 Percent of Those Polled Gave Up Wii Fit
Wii Fit has done big business in Japan — and pretty much everywhere, for that matter. The peripheral and game went on sale late last year in The Land of the Rising Sun, and Japanese website IT Media poses the question: Do Wii Fit owners actually still play Wii Fit everyday? Short answer: Nope. According to the thousand IT Media readers polled (for whatever that's worth), the majority of them do not play their copies of Wii Fit (ditto). Here's the breakdown:
Do you use Wii Fit faithfully everyday?
• 22 percent — I record my progress faithfully everyday
• 6 percent — Maybe once every two or three days
• 6 percent — Once a week
• 64 percent — Stopped using after purchase
Wii is the crack of consoles. You get a quick high but the high goes away fast and then your crack pipe sits on a shelf.
360 is the Marijuana, Beer or Wine of consoles. Something you can partake in often and not get tired of.
PS3 is the fruity mixed drink of gaming. Tastes great and looks fancy but you can have only one before it makes you sick.
Re: Wii Fit
Not sure how that's really different than any other exercise program people start and then give up on.
