I still think Billy Ray Cyrus single handedly destroyed the mullet. He was such a joke it turned the entire world against it.

Um... was the mullet well-respected before Billy Ray?

I find the whole rise in popularity of the word "mullet" to be quite fascinating. Seriously, in the last few years, it's become part of everyone's vocabulary, how many of you were familiar with the word before then? I wasn't...

without doing any research, I believe mullet is a type of fish. And one with a rather displeasing odor. Just reaching back from some deep memory here

mullet is a kind of fish that lives (at least) in the coastal waters around the southeast United States. People in some backwoods areas do eat them. They are easy to catch, but have no real market value because...well the dont taste very good. Like Brim or Crappie or whatever else, you will see them in little fish fry houses out in bumfuck, particularly Northern Florida, which is an alternate universe of redneck. i wonder if the expression for hair followed from the type of people who were likely to attend the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival.

Crappie is good eating. Get them big ones, fillet them and use some corn meal on them and fry away. Oh yeah!!!!

Smoked mullet is fantastic stuff, mullet also makes great shark bait.

Crappie, bluegill and catfish are tasty too, folks won't eat them in some areas of the country. Triggerfish is probably the most underrated one in this area, it's my favorite.

And you mustn't forget the Flora-Bama mullet toss.

Yep, Panfish are awesome food. Fry up a bunch of bass, crappie and hushpuppies and I am a happy person. :)

I think the circle of life will be completed, however, when I see a person with a mullet catching a mullet. :P

My uncle used to take me trout fishing during the summers back in PA. That's about the only freshwater fish I'll eat. I'll admit I got spoiled living in S. Florida. When snapper and grouper are so cheap, why eat anything else?

Man, did the people in Seattle hate Boz for being such a bust. I remember when I lived there, someone found an uncashed paycheck of his and it made the news. I believe the person refused to give it back to him.
