Re: Snow
I wish. There's something wrong about seasons going from autumn to autumn to autumn to spring.

Re: Snow
We've had 17" of snow here over the weekend..
Since the beginning of winter, Ottawa's gotten 157" of snow fall. The only redeeming quality of all this shit is that we're close to breaking a record for most snowfall in the area that was set in 70-71.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see all this snow, it's just been a long time since I've seen this much of it! We had over a foot fall yesterday. I'd say around a foot and a half, but hard to tell with blowing snow and drifts.

Re: Snow
Spoiler'd the pictures so they wouldn't be spammed...
I miss having that much snow. Maybe it was the fact that I was about less than half the height I am now, but I swear to god I remember digging tunnels under the snow when I was a little kid because it'd get that high. It wasn't an all the time thing here in Northern VA, but I know it happened multiple times and every winter it's worse and worse. I feel bad for kids growing up here now, they're missing out on some really awesome snow days.
Ofcourse, now that I'm older and would have to drive to work and shit, I'd probably hate it if it happened often lol.
Re: Snow
Yeah, growing up in Ohio (after moving here from "Teh South") I remember HUGE snowfalls pretty much every year and the street Sabek and I grew up on was a winter wonderland of snowmen, forts and tunnels. Snowball fights galore! I think the only rule was "If you use iceballs, you're going to get them used on you"
This snowfall we had (Supposedly 20 inches, but I think it was closer to 15) was the first that truly brought back memories in several years.

Re: Snow
Buffalo had about 24" but the "blizzard" didn't appear. Bunch of snow for 24 hours but nothing like the 7 feet in 4 days late December 2001.

Re: Snow
Oh I prefer that as well! However, the 80-90 up here is certainly not 80-90 east of the Rockies. It is more akin to CA in the NW...although there are some days when it is rather humid--still nothing like middle-America!
I prefer 72-76 with a breeze, but that is not so common--better luck with that weather in coastal orange county and San Diego.

Relatives in ME posted some pictures, they're having dig out the windows so they can see out of them, the snow's right up the the eaves of many of their houses. They say it's the most snowfall they've had since the 30s.

He used to have an (ugly) house about a mile from where the wife grew up. People said he was pretty nice.Canelek wrote:Incoming new Stephen King novel?

Re: Snow
While we did get a large amount of snow this year, usually it is just cold. I mean bitter freezing balls shrunk and going back up inside type of cold. For most of our winter we were at or below zero. There is a reason we are known as the Frozen Tundra. Still, it was nice to have snow with it this year.

I blame Canelek killing off all the NPCs in Halas. The vengeful Tribunal vowed to cover the world in Snow to freeze the Iksar into extinction.
P.S. But Global Warming caused Halas to melt and sink under the ocean... bastards

Hell no! I always polar-bear'd it as well. However, once you got near zoneline to Everfrost, there was that horrible dark corner that sometimes got me turned around.Winnow wrote:Did anyone ever wait for that little wooden raft to enter/exit Halas? I always braved the cold waters and swam! It was the only way I improved my swimming skill for a long time.
You should see EQ2 Everfrost/Halas. It is surrounded by great big sharks!
