Charlie Bartlett

Post by Winnow »

Not so good.

Charlie attempts to be liked by his new schoolmates by playing psychiatrist in the school's bathroom, giving out various drug prescriptions to other kids that he accumulates from his own trips to multiple shrinks.

It's too corny and there's not enough character development for you to care about anyone in the movie. Robert Downey Jr. plays a very uninspired role as the principal of the school and father of Charlie's girlfriend.

5/10

An episode of Gossip Girl is more worthy of being called a movie than this effort.

Im with Winnow on this one. Its a movie I wanted to like so bad. It had its moments, but overall, it was weak in my opinion. I usually agree with IMDB ratings (this one has a 7.5 atm), but I gave it a 6/10.
Hope Davis was incredible, as was Anton Yelchin who played Charlie. Unfortunately, their great performances couldn't save this one for me.
