Gratz. First quote, which is edited anyway, is a defensive suggestion. Rather than Jesus' "turn the other cheek", which none of you bible thumpers actually advocate because you're hypocrites, this says "If someone attacks you, don't be a bitch, kill them until they don't want to fight any more".

Meh forget it, why the fuck should anyone here discuss something of this level of complexity with you anyway. You consistently exhibit the kind of 5th grade comprehension reserved for morons and trolls, so it's pointless.

From a Muslim website

The true irony in all of this is that the misguided Muslims who have committed horrible acts of violence in the name of Islam in recent years are following a modern Western influenced re-interpretation of Islam which took form during the late colonial period (i.e. after Christian powers invaded Muslim countries and started to exploit them). This undeniable fact has been documented in a number of books and articles, by Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

In the end, the actions of a fanatical minority of Muslims today does not prove that the Qur'an is a "lethal" book, rather it only proves that some Muslims have an interpretation of it that flies in the face of over 1,400 years of competent Islamic scholarship. If the Qur'an advocates indiscriminate violence against civilians, isn't it odd that more than a millennium of scrupulous and God-fearing Muslim memorizers, exegetes and jurists failed to realize it?
Here's a question for you Midnyte.

Studies show that African Americans make up the single largest portion of prisoners in the US. Does that mean that all blacks are criminals? It is the same rational as you are using regarding Muslims. Sounds pretty stupid to me.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

For the record..

From Mein Kompf
Hitler wrote: "I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.."
My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before in the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice.... And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people.... When I go out in the morning and see these men standing in their queues and look into their pinched faces, then I believe I would be no Christian, but a very devil if I felt no pity for them, if I did not, as did our Lord two thousand years ago, turn against those by whom to-day this poor people is plundered and exploited.
-Adolf Hitler, in his speech in Munich on 12 April 1922

[Note, "brood of vipers" appears in Matt. 3:7 & 12:34. John 2:15 depicts Jesus driving out the money changers (adders) from the temple. The word "adders" also appears in Psalms 140:3]
I am not saying Hitler is a great Christian, but he and his party declared their intentions and atrocities as God's work, this is in addition to the other things already sited. As I said earlier, every religious/political group has their nutjobs, to hold so many in contempt for what in actuality is a very minor (definitely vocal, but minor) few is a stretch to say the least.

You brought it up man. How do you propose you try and show us all that Christians and Muslims evils compare in the past 50 years? Instead of facing the truth about Muslims, you instead want to deflect. It's a common thing people do when they can't face the awful truth. I understand. It's okay.
Midnyte has a point. the Quran is a fucking scary piece of literature. And CERTAIN PEOPLE take it quite literally.

How about we face The truth about Farstorm!

Blast from the past.

p.s. Fighting the Muslim extremist with the sword is a strategy that is doomed to failure (for a demonstration of this, observe the Palestinian/Israeli conflict). At some point, somebody has to say enough and end the cycle of violence. We are currently starting UP another cycle in Iraq... hopefully we have the courage to end it the only way proven to work - turning the other cheek while co-opting the culture and economy into worldwide norms. This worked in Japan, Germany, Vietnam and Cambodia (underway), Argentina, Chile, etc. etc. Swords to plowshares and all that. It won't be easy, it won't be quick, but it WILL work, it has been proven to work time and time again. So unless something is unique about the Muslim extremist, which I refuse to believe, their (and our) humanity will prevail. Until we admit that, we are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Um, I hadn't posted a single comment till the one I made that was ON TOPIC you moron, pay attention.

P.S. 75% of the time, it isn't either one of us "fuckheads" doing the derailing in any given thread, but you and most people here are far too shallow to grasp that concept, or just have too much blind hatred or distaste for me/whoever that you blame it on them even though anyone with half a brain could see that isn't the case.

This particular thread I did not bother reading, so I have no idea how it started. I just posted that I could care less that some horseshit actor is dead. I actually feel he may end up being a darwin candidate, considering supposedly he took medicine you are not supposed to take with respiratory illness, and he had pneumonia. If this really is the case, one less moron.

Not really a troll. I'm trying to prove a point. A noose is a noose. It wasn't a problem until this halloween when some bored black activist decided he'd capitalize off of some white-guilt Jena 6 bullshit and to make a name for himself and raise some false outrage. Then the media ran with it and dumb teenagers put a few more up....because they're teenagers and we now have a new symbol of hatred. It's laughable.

I don't find it difficult to take his posts seriously. On the contrary, it's difficult to take seriously somebody who refuses to communicate with those whose opinions differ from their own. I'm not a conservative nor do I agree with much of what he says, but his style of posting has its merits and you're silly if you can't see some of the points he brings up as being legitimate topics for discussion.

As has been said many times... It's not due to him holding differing opinions. What makes you think that's the case?

And no.. I don't think he brings up legitimate points for discussion. Sucks for those who do and waste all that time entering in responses to his moronic postings.

Feel free to think differently though. That wont change my opinion any. We're all unique individuals here!

On the topic of HEATH LEDGER, a friend and I went looking for a particular movie after seeing Rambo friday night, and almost every rental store near campus had some sort of "Honor the Actor, Watch his Movies!" rack with Ledger's face and all of his movies in full display. I didn't really care - I'd probably do the same thing if I was in charge (sorry, my first thought when I heard the news was, "did they finish filming?"... weak, I know), but the woman checking out in front of me at Hollywood video made a fuss about it to the manager. I'm guessing a lot of places are doing this.

Hell, stick a couple copies of The Crow on that shelf as well! ...maybe put a rack of "Faces of Death" videos close by but not quite close enough to be obvious about it.
