4 more Brits to be released from US gulag

Post by Nick »

After spending 4 years in Guantanamo, these men who pose a "significant threat" according to the USA (despite all the lawyers involved calling it a farce), should be back in the UK by Christmas.

So, like Moazzam Begg and others, who end up being released immediately upon their return, the same is being said about these guys. Not much of a significant threat after all eh.

Does the US not owe compensation for wrongfully and illegally imprisoning these men for 4 years of their life?

If you think the answer is no, imagine it was some Americans being held by the UK, and watch your logic evaporate before your very eyes!

Something about this line makes no sense to me...what did you mean by being released immediately upon their return?

The protocol goes something like this.

The UK asks for their citizens back.

Eventually the USA has little option because of the diplomatic pressure to comply.

The USA demands that the UK consider the evidence that suggests the prisoners are of "significant threat" in a last ditch effort to get the prisoners tried in the UK (even though there is no evidence that they are guilty of any wrong doing - in every case so far).

The Uk accepts this "comprimise".

The prisoners are brought to UK and they are "investigated", for about 15 minutes...before being let out without charge, because there was no evidence in the first place.

Yes, we do. At least in my opinion, when you rob someone of four years without giving them the benefit of due process, you owe them big.
Bujinkan is teh win!
