Ron Paul raised at least $2.4 million today and its still growing. 2nd largest amount any candidate has raised in 1 day so far this year. Lots of people still think he is a joke, but more and more are joining up. Join the revolution!

I feel he is the only hope for our country at the moment. Even if you don't know who he is or agree with him on everything, at least check out his website and see what he is about.

Re: Ron Paul raised over $2 million today
The number Yahoo is reporting via their news page is 3.5 million. Not bad for a longshot candidate.
Edit: At 11:00p.m. central time, the total is up to 4.2.

Ron Paul wrote:The right of an innocent, unborn child to life is at the heart of the American ideals of liberty. My professional and legislative record demonstrates my strong commitment to this pro-life principle.
In 40 years of medical practice, I never once considered performing an abortion, nor did I ever find abortion necessary to save the life of a pregnant woman.
In Congress, I have authored legislation that seeks to define life as beginning at conception, HR 1094.
I am also the prime sponsor of HR 300, which would negate the effect of Roe v Wade by removing the ability of federal courts to interfere with state legislation to protect life. This is a practical, direct approach to ending federal court tyranny which threatens our constitutional republic and has caused the deaths of 45 million of the unborn.
I have also authored HR 1095, which prevents federal funds to be used for so-called “population control.”
Many talk about being pro-life. I have taken direct action to restore protection for the unborn.
As an OB/GYN doctor, I’ve delivered over 4,000 babies. That experience has made me an unshakable foe of abortion. Many of you may have read my book, Challenge To Liberty, which champions the idea that there cannot be liberty in a society unless the rights of all innocents are protected. Much can be understood about the civility of a society in observing its regard for the dignity of human life.

Yeah... I don't vote on one issue, and the president doesn't make all the decisions.
No matter how much he is against abortion, I don't see it going anywhere. Plus I'm not a woman and I'm also not out banging tons of whores without protection.

Ya know, that is the one place I disagree with Ron Paul. Luckily he respects that, and does not want to pass any laws to outlaw abortion. In fact, its the opposite. He wants no federal laws against abortion or for it.
Re: Ron Paul raised over $2 million today
Quotation please? His position statement seems to indicate he's tried to free the states from Roe v. Wade restrictions. This isn't so that the pro-choice status quo is maintained I assure you.Asheran Mojomaster wrote:Ya know, that is the one place I disagree with Ron Paul. Thank god he stands no chance in hell, he'd destroy what is already broken.
Anti Abortion, Anti Immigration, Anti central Bank, Anti IRS, Anti 16th amendment, No Federal Reserve, pro opt out of SS, defederalize health care... sounds like your basic religious right wing whackjob

Yeah... he might not want to pass federal laws regulating abortion per se, but wanting to pass federal laws to manipulate the judiciary's jurisdiction over the constitution is no less activist. Looking briefly at that bill, I think it itself is unconstitutional, and would likely have to be enacted via constitutional amendment.
That bill (as it sounds from that quip) would also ban judicial protection of euthanasia and even living wills.
